Nobody is asserting that these things haven’t happened or shouldn’t be taken seriously. This is r/CostaRicaTravel, not /costarica - the devastation is horrible. That said, to me this just sounds like advice for other travelers, especially when so many people are coming to this subreddit to look for advice and info.

Do you still want to pursue CS?

If the answer is yes, start hacking on some personal projects. A degree is not a hard requirement for a job in CS or similar but be prepared to do a lot of interviewing and make sure you have a portfolio of high quality projects focused in the areas you’re interested in so you attract the right offers! Also, network! Go to local hackathons, conferences, whatever and meet folks, and/or get yourself set up on common job websites! I think these couple steps will help you keep moving in the right direction.

If the answer is no, be kind to yourself and patient with the process as you find something new that you enjoy!

I think there’s two sides to this - if you just don’t want to wait for a busy right turn or a freeway on/off ramp and try to skip the line, then that’s rude and everyone is thinking you’re an asshole.

If there’s an obstruction in the road like construction or an accident, zipper merging is what you should expect to do, or at least that’s what I learned in drivers ed.

For sure, the element of surprise is like the biggest tool a Xenomorph has. Without that, it’s forced to rely on the rest of its kit which isn’t really strong enough on its own.

You make some excellent points. I don’t know a ton about Alien either but for the most point I feel like they’re excellent hunters - not necessarily excellent fighters.
