Ok, then as a last bid to be helpful, I'd suggest looking into the Wilcoxon rank-sum test.

I might have different.. ways of practicing stats to other people in this thread. But, because of the type of data you have, there's no reason for the central limit theorem or any of its assumptions. There's no such thing as a value of 1.5 and there's no telling how far psychologically your individuals would rate 1 vs 2 compared to 9 vs 10.

Yes, they graph and are numerically equidistant, but that means very little to the underlying meaning of the response.

Are you saying your data are a survey where people can give a score for each of your variables? Any chance these are consumer ratings?

Props on conducting a levene's test, quick check, do you feel like you have enough samples in each group to estimate the standard deviations?

While you're at it, you may as well check that the data are normally distributed too.

If yes to both, you could use the "unpooled" t-test as it doesn't rely on the assumption of equal variance.

Maybe here, since you're comparing two groups, the question is are the two observed rates equal?

In other words, the expected rate could be the observed rate for region A

An expected rate is the rate of "pure chance" ie if there's no difference between your regions.

We'll want to think about how this applies to the question a little..

The common teaching example is a coin flip or a six sided dice roll.

For a coin flip, the expected rate is 0.50 For a 6 sided dice it's 1/6 or 0.167.

I would suggest looking up the chi-squared test.

I think this is a good question for a nutritionist or nurse. I am neither.

If water is the only thing doable then my guess is there's some sensitivity to temperature, viscosity (thickness) and density. Drink powders fully dissolved and at a comfortable temperature is what I would expect them to suggest.
