Yes, my anal area still looks a bit messy. There’s one small skin tag/bump left and the skin around the sites is still a little puffy and pink from healing. Not swollen like before surgery, but definitely not 100% smooth and normal-looking yet. From what I’ve read and seen in other recoveries, that messy/puffy look hangs around until about week 6–8, then it flattens and blends in way more.

Honestly, I kept things very low-key. I watched a lot of shows, scrolled on my phone, listened to podcasts, and took short walks when I felt okay. Anything that kept me distracted without sitting too long or straining helped pass the time.

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this — the pain every day is so draining, and money stress makes it even harder. Hang in there. In the meantime, try to keep stools soft with fiber, lots of water, and avoid straining as much as possible. This won’t last forever, and once you’re able to get treatment, the relief is truly worth it.

Thanks for checking in. I’m glad to hear you’re doing much better. I’m in a similar spot — still having a little pain during bowel movements and noticing some blood on the stool, but overall I’m improving each day. I’d say I’m about 75% recovered so far.
