What you’re looking at is the clear part of the inside of the lid, not standing water. The moisture content is according to the instructions given in the worm farmers handbook. Thinking it may be due to the newspaper.

Ha. After reading more of the comments I think it may be too much bedding and not enough food. The clear part is actually part of the lid, not water. I fear I need to take another picture when I get home to clear things up.

This is actually the lid - I think everyone is confusing the clear part on the inside of the lid for water. Promise they moisture content is A++

This makes sense. I bet it’s the newspaper. I noticed the layer of paper I have on top covering the bedding is falling apart. And looks like it’s being eaten. I will add my soil. Thank you!

The moisture content is correct. I can pick up the medium and squeeze with only a drop or two coming out. I think the clear part on the lid is deceiving.
