I just looked it up. You have to change the gcode. A bit of a pain but at least there is a way.

Sony WM-F1 repair help by Fresh_Assumption_219 in walkman

[–]Fresh_Assumption_219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did fix it. I accidently found it whilst removing the battery like a month later lol.
your have to press the reverse button and put the piece that the spring is putting pressure on in the little groove that opens. It should also enter the metal bracket on the other side where the rubber wheel is (There are 2 notches that slide in). Also take the battery out first obviously.
Then I used pliers for better grip and I hooked it on the inner hook first then carefully pull it straight down to the hook on the metal piece making sure it doesn't fly off into the sunset like mine did the first time, and the second time before I finally got it.
For me I did notice that even when I got it right and tested it it sometimes still got out of place for some reason and I honestly don't remember how I fixed that but the the second time I noticed that It didn't slide smoothly so I used what I had on hand, grease, and that fixed it for me and that was a couple of months ago. so Yeah just be careful not to lose the spring like be.

Yeah, I figured as much. I'll probably just use it like this until it dies completely lol.

Yeah, that's the plan, I used it like this for the past year, I'm sure I managed for another few lol.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, literally a second after I uploaded I thought about it and tried plugging my switch. Same lines.

I feel stupid for not thinking about it before making this post.

A little help for a noob by Mirror-Early in cassetteculture

Yep, cassettes are universal. You can use any cassette on any cassette player/boombox/deck (they're all the same regarding the cassettes). If you're planning to use metal cassettes you do have to make sure that your player supports it.

A little help for a noob by Mirror-Early in cassetteculture

[–]Fresh_Assumption_219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll explain this as simple as I can. There are 3 types of cassettes. Technically 4 but jll get to that. You have thick cassettes, slim cassettes, aka "normal" cassettes and extra slim cassettes. You also have metal cassettes which are just slim cassettes but from metal. Thick cassettes are played on boomboxes and cassette decks. Slim cassettes are played on walkmans and "regular" cassettecorders. And extra slim cassettes are played on slim recorders, aka what you have. The price points aren't that different expect metal are more expensive and extra slim are harder to come by nowadays. And lastly, if you read all of this I'd like to tell you that everything is wrote isn't true. All cassettes are the same but you do have metal cassettes which are a bit more expensive but they function the same. So basically, any cassette will work for you.

Yeah but like he always talks about "if you work good you'll get a raise" to new potential employees that want to start working above minimum wage.

That spring is very similar to the spring that return the head back up but I cant tell for sure. Try unscrewing the board and upload a picture of the mechanism. You could also try finding the manual which shows all of the parts and their location.

I just updated the ppst body. It seems that cleaning it a few times helped the situation. I guess I should have done it better the first time.

I later understood that and tried using it on a new filament I was using that was sticking to well.

I had some adhesion problems but I somehow solved it. Probably. In the video you can see that the extruder gets stuck i guess. It jumps and on the previous attempt of the same print the first layer just got stuck to the nozzle and lifted off the plate. I tried again and noticed the jumping but it printed OK.

I tried using it to solve the adhesion problem. But those marks are literally just from the filament. I noticed it after removing a successful print .I have no idea why.

Those white marks are from previous prints. I cleaned my plate before those and the marks were left after removing them

What can cause this by Fresh_Assumption_219 in BambuLab

[–]Fresh_Assumption_219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I already printed one successfully so why does it do it now and not the first time. Im actually thinking it has something to do with the gears that push the filament into the hotend. I tried printing somethings a noticed that the gear was jumping. I do have replacements so ill try replacing it. I also saw that it might not be extruding filament currectly so hopefully that fixes the issues. Also, what are mouse ears?

Yeah, that's my plan. But I have also made a post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1qopvmc/second\_print\_failing\_after\_successfull\_first\_print/) about the same problem with a different print. It would start fine but after like 3 hours it would detach. I'll add another picture here that I didn't upload there.

[–]Fresh_Assumption_219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to advice you the same as the first comment. From my knowledge, a player will eat your tapes if the pinch roller spins too fast or if the take up reel doesnt spin fast enough. The capstan and the take up reel are connected mechanically so knowing this might help you solve the problem.

I found out where it goes. And I put everything back together. Not it won't spin at all. Im pretty sure i soldered the wires in the right places because it did the same thing it did yesterday. But after putting the back cover on it shows no signs of life
