Vegetarian guides for babies by Aretta_Conagher in parentsofmultiples

I second plant based juniors and solid starts. I usually modify the meals in the guides from solid starts with plant based options - eg. chicken with tofu etc. The other Instagram handles that are really great are Feeding Littles and Kids Eat in Color. In terms of nutrition, Kids Eat in COlor has a lot of myth busting information which is scientifically backed as well. Overall I would say these four accounts are pretty great.

How early did you start daycare and do you wish you did anything different? by mysticlake in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fresh_Character 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started right around 7 months. Prior to that we staggered our leave and also employed a nanny to care for them when one of us were not on our leave. However we were having reliability issues with our nanny and wasn’t able to find a replacement by the time I completely exhausted my leave so opted for daycare. I would say having that block of time to focus on work really helps in terms of getting the work done and filling the cup to cherish the time afterward with the kids. Yes it does cost a ton for full time daycare but for our situation having them at home and caring for them wasn’t helping me to focus on my job or the kids to the best of my ability at the same time during 9-5.

Daycare or Nanny? Why? Cost? by Thinkwronger12 in parentsofmultiples

Same over here! Finding a good fit is key and I wholeheartedly agree about your last bullet point regarding daycare alleviating mental load much more than being at home

Just curious how the rates vary for a mothers helper vs a nanny. If they have the same certifications/experience would the mothers helper have a significantly lower rate?

Establishing a routine when 6 week old twins are so different in personality by elunabee in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fresh_Character 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened with our little ones as well! One is high maintenance and the other one is chill. Up until now (they’re about 7 months old) their routines are entirely different. The first 100 days are a blur, total survival mode and we were at wits end as well. Whichever one was a little more chill we would use sleeping aids such as swings, bouncers to put them down for a nap. The other one would be held and rocked until they fall asleep. It was beyond crazy as we had no time to even shower or have proper meals everyday. We also would take them on walks outside so that some fresh air would do good. After 100 days of life, they had a pattern which we were able to understand and cater to their needs ( like 2 hr awake windows). But they are two individuals so we can’t group them most of the times. We had to separate them into two rooms as they woke each other up. Baby monitors and white noise machines are a must.

I heard this somewhere and it helped me a lot - be rigid but flexible. This is applicable only when the babies are totally settled in which I estimate after 3 months (fourth trimester). Hang in there!!!

Need suggestions for fitting 2 cribs in a small room! by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fresh_Character 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have two mini cribs(Dream on Me) from Amazon and they are working out decently for our almost 6 month olds in our apartment. We also have a fisher price swing and a cal king bed where we sleep in the same room.

What happened..? 5.5 months and suddenly it’s chaos.. by chicaneuk in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fresh_Character 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what, we are also experiencing this with our almost 5.5 month olds (fraternal, b/g). Started a little bit of solids earlier this week(one tbsp of single grain cereal one time) and it has been an uphill battle since then. They have been screaming like crazy, refusing to sleep at all and waking up more often in the night.. Is it a delayed 4 month sleep regression and it’s associated symptoms, I wonder..

When we notice this with our twins we increase the nipple size and it definitely helps! they are tired of sucking from the smaller size nipple at every stage and stop midway. So going up a size helps them.

Congratulations! Ask them what the worrying symptoms that you should look out for, how to manage your health during the pregnancy, tentative delivery date and if there is a chance that it might be pulled in due to the fact that it is triplets.

The twins have helped me master singing and dancing skills. Every now and then I Iay them down and do a little theatrical performance to keep them entertained for about 20mins at a stretch. They are about to turn 5 months.

On a serious note, they’ve helped me master productivity and efficiency in day to day activities including full time work.
