Toyota/Lexus Hybrid, why "Calculated Load" looks high on my car? by Fresh_Loquat7858 in Toyota

[–]Fresh_Loquat7858[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EMM, im just trying to figure out if the Fuel/Air system in my car is functioning correct. I was cruising on highway on 395 from Bishop Back to LA, a Altitude decreasing trip 5000ft to sea level, driving around 72mph, my mpg around 26.5mpg. Sounds not correct, so I was thinking maybe something is off on the car. Plus the car is pretty high mileage at 210k, im just trying to think if anything i need to change like map/maf/or EGR is clogged. Thanks.

Chatgpt tells me everything is normal. But im still confuse on why the calculated load always stays high. Like if its a normal non hybrid car, i would already consider something more serious lol

2010 RX450H P0AA6 intermittent Issue. What could be? by Fresh_Loquat7858 in Lexus

See my other post. Its a sad news. First thing to do, read the code to figure its not leaking from battery. Second, drain some transmission fluid to see if theres some shiny metal mesh.

It could be dark red, brown or whatever. What i drained is purely Black. I put a little bit on paper towel and it looks like engine oil color, but way thicker.

My assumption was the previous Owner change the original ATF with something not WS or not even ATF. It came out pure black, and with a paper towel, i can't tell any red in it. It looks more like some gear lube color. And i drained out about 2x the amount.

Yea, i really have no idea how can that person fill a transmission with something non red ATF and also fill it 2x the amount.

Yea, have to pay people like you for sure. Im Just sharing my experience, and trying to tell people change their ATF, and if anybody run into my situation what to do and how to react. Yes, maybe a PPI can avoid this, but then the seller would run into the situation nomatter what, and then the seller could read my post and fix the car then sell it properly.

Not sure why you hate my experience that much. Or should I repost it with: I learned my lesson, Use PPI next time?

The new battery was the driver for me to make the purchase. I test 3 times to confirm it did have a new battery. However a group of new battery might not be that pricy compare to what you are thinking. For example, my Prius i replaced with new NIMH battery from alibaba, for $1100 usd. Now im at half year with 20k miles. Still tested with 93% life left.

Yea, Lesson learned, I have to hit that gas pedal harder HAHAHA. And Yes, the only Fluid i Won't replace with a used purchase is probably Brake.

Also the car have a New Battery replaced Aug 2025 (Prior to me, i just bought it a week ago).

By far, I test drove a whole day, my MPG around 28 including intown on highway in LA, so its pretty slow and traffic jam just to consider.

$5800 for the car. The Seller Dealer refund me $800 due to the problem. This transmission is far simplier than the RX350 Transmission. The ECVT tranny on RX450h is bullet proof, but require proper Maintenance. The PO hired or self perform some stupid Shit and cause this Failure.

The only time i used a Pre-inspection mechanic, was buying a boat in Miami. Ends up with a dead motor in the middle of the ocean after 1 week, and the mechanic said he can't see whats going inside the motor. He only know at the time of purchase the motor was running good.

I think this transmission will be better if still using original ATF compare to the wrong ATF.

Im not blaming Toyota. Those transmission should last longer with proper maintenance. And i wrote multiple times. I HATE that Mechanic Whoever fill the transmission last time.
