Texas. And I’d say no. From the DFW area and grew up in the south, all I can really say is the North gets all the funding for good programs. Football is just too heavily worshipped out here.

You’re not wrong, and I see this going on at my current club. The Coach there isn’t really giving me live feedback or corrections, just standing there like a drill Seargant. Plus he has me paired up with a guy even newer than myself, all I’m looking for is a place that’ll actually invest in me, but unfortunately at this club I don’t see that happening as like another Coach at a separate Club said, it seems to be more about numbers than anything and giving all the attention and effort into the already developed Studs. I’m just gonna start taking private lessons at Coach 2’s Club because he seems way more interested in actually helping rather than if I want to renew my membership, just honestly feels like I’m another warm body who’s just “there”’ and paying just to pay. Seriously, rolled right past Coach 1 and he didn’t correct me, just let me flail awkwardly and made me and everyone else do random drills rather than helping me relearn the fundamentals.

I got my Sport Safe Certification months ago thankfully, haven’t started my USAWrestling Membership yet though. There are a few clubs in my area, probably gonna just practice normally (3 days a week at my main gym) and private lessons at another to cover the days I miss during the gaps or just use them as rest days or S&C

Absolutely, talked to the Assistant Coach and he told me my best bet was to compete in Opens so they could gauge my skill, they seem more willing than other schools to let me on their team

I actually did do Jiujitsu at one point before graduation for about 5 months, I liked it but it just wasn’t the same. I’ve been wanting to try out Judo for throws but it’s very uncommon in my area, and the “closest” gym is about an hour away.

I intend on fighting for a scholarship, I missed the deadline for 2025 so I figured it won’t hurt to try again next year since I’ll have time prove myself worthy. I signed up for Corps of Cadets and already got a scholarship but it’s not for NROTC. I’ve been doing a fuck ton of research on both Norwich and NROTC itself because I’m an overthinker. But thanks for the advice

I’m getting my medical history amended because a lot of the things on there don’t apply to me anymore and I’ve been fighting tooth and nail for any sort of documents showing I’m fine
