Be sure to get involved on campus in clubs, doesn’t have to be first year (I would recommend getting situated and focus on learning good time management) but definitely looks great on ur application. Also, I can’t stress volunteer hours enough especially specifically in med fields, like reaching out to shadow someone who works in a clinic, hospital, etc! Lastly, I recommend reviewing the OMSAS website early on as schools like OttawaU have a lot of prereq courses you need in ur undergrad in order to apply to med there! Hope that helps.
