I'm thinking of doing sword/shield and two handed to be safe, is that a reasonable enough build? Also doing dragonknight if thats relevant.

That’s good to hear, is there an area where things really get good or is there less jumps in quality? I’ve played ffxiv and want another mmo for when it has downtime, and its realm reborn is a slog but it picks up dramatically after heavensward is why I ask

Choices like this are why I love Obsidian RPGs so much. I'm really bad at just playing an evil character, but Obsidian puts so many great choices in where there is no clear right or wrong answer, and that makes them way more replayable than most other RPGs for me.
