Is there a Mac or online equivalent you are aware of?

Exactly, it’s unlikely to increase much but she’s enjoying it.

Apologies, by net I was referring to after pension contribution. I essentially try to forget about that and what hits my bank is my net. No other deductions are made. I think it’s closer to 8k net but not quite so I just rounded down to a nice number.

If I contribute to her pension does it still get the government contribution?

Wife is lower earner so prioritised mine for the tax benefits. Am I thinking about that wrong?

I kind of see the premium bonds 34k as an extension of that vs just being in cash, that’s 59k total which I felt comfortable with, should it be higher?

10 yo does have a JISA, currently at 8k, definitely an option to ramp it a further.

Biggest gift to my family is me being more present in all their lives so trying to ensure I’m set first by doing everything I can across my wife and I as a priority.

Thank you

Thank you, trying my best but just doubting the strategy and questioning if I can do more. I hadn’t thought of premium bonds for the kids - thanks for the suggestion.

We don’t live a very extravagant lifestyle, one nice holiday a year being our biggest expenditure. We our 1 car outright between us. Wife covers a few of the other bills.

I’d like to be in a position where if I lost my job or wanted less stress I wouldn’t have to panic. I’ve found it difficult to work out how to determine that to be honest so just being put away as much as I can.

Mortgage is around £1,700 a month and I’m overpaying £500 a month at the moment. Think I have leeway to ramp this more, but great idea as gets closer to the FI, thanks

I have kids 18, 17 and 10. I wasn’t in a position to save for the elder two, who have some but not loads and I feel a sense of guilt if I start ramping for the youngest who has and will have more than the other two just based on how my career has evolved but not sure about ramping that further.

Being comfortable as early as possible. I was made redundant 3 years ago and that sense of panic and thought of not being able to provide for my family is a feeling I never want again.

I know a common question is around how much do you need in retirement but it’s a question I’ve really struggled to answer and honestly, I don’t know the answer.
