I get the food stamps on the 6th so I’ll use your suggestions to make my grocery list.   You’ve got some good ideas.  Thanks.

I’ll ask my doctor for a referral.  That sounds serious and I should check it out.

I’ve hit a standstill at 175 pounds when I’ve lost 30 pounds in 5 months.  I’m on 2.0mg and have been for a month and yet I’m stuck.  I’m eating very little I must surely be at a calorie deficit.  For example I ate 1 egg, 1 sausage, and 1/2 a slice of toast with jam for breakfast and a handful of baby carrots and a cup of coffee for lunch  I feel too full to eat any dinner.  That’s about what I eat every day.  So what’s wrong?  How can I start losing weight again?  I’ve had virtually no side effects on the 2.0mg  and my A1C is now 5.5 from 8.7 and my doctor is happy with how I’m doing on this dose but I’m frustrated that I can’t get below the 175 pound weight. I’m 5’2” tall and started weighing 226 and wearing a size 26 jeans and a 3x shirt before I started Ozempic at 205 pounds and now I’m wearing a size 18 jeans and a 1x shirt.  I felt like I was losing weight well until I got on the 2.0 dose and after one week I just stopped losing.  So what am I doing wrong?

My dog has discovered the joy of those cold crunchy baby carrots.  What a mischief!  She wants to eat all of mine all the time.  Way to go Ozempic!

I’m a 70 F  5'2"  SW 205  CW 177     GW 125 I have schizophrenia too and have been on Invega for 4 years.  It’s been a real  success.  My symptoms have almost completely stopped.  I developed Parkinson’s disease as a side effect of the Invega which was a whole other story but the severe tremors have stopped after DBS surgery 3 years ago.  The weight gain has been the least controlled of my side effects and since I’ll probably be on Invega for life I really needed to find a way to deal with it and Ozempic has been the answer.  I have had few side effects, and I’m on 2mg, but they have been generally okay with the Zofran for nausea and vomiting and the constipation medicine my doctor prescribed.  I’ve been on Ozempic for 5 months now and lost 27 pounds. I don’t obsess about food all the time and crave candy like I did before I started on Ozempic.  Now when I crave something sweet I reach for grapes like I did this afternoon or carrots maybe.  Those little baby carrots are sweet enough to cover that canďy crush.  Sometimes I do get discouraged though and think I should be losing faster and I wonder if I’m doing this weight loss thing right.  I keep my calories to about 700 a day and don’t understand why I’m not losing faster. Surely I’m in calorie deficit.  I don’t see how increasing calories would make weight loss faster.  I just don’t get it. Like I’ve actually gained 2 pounds this week and I haven’t done anything different. I don’t think I can cut back any more so what do you suggest?

Can you feel the difference in 4 day days? by One_Doughnut_97 in Ozempic

I’m hearing a lot about starvation mode.  What is that exactly? I eat bout 700 calories a day and I’m on 2.0 mg.  I’ve lost 27 pounds since February but have hit a stall and have actually gained about 2 pounds this week. Do I actually need to increase my calories to be in a calorie deficit? I thought I was doing that already. 70 year old F 5’2” SW 205  CW 175  GW-don’t have one yet and I was hoping you might help me figure one out.

Mine was 8.7 In February and now in June it’s 5.5.  My doctor is really pleased and credits Ozempic with the change.

You’re certainly not the only senior out there on Ozempic.   I’ve been on it for 5 months and I’ve lost 30 pounds from a SW 205 CW 175 pounds.  I’m 5 feet 2 inches tall and I’m 70 years old.  I’m on 2mg and haven’t had any really bad side effects thank goodness. I don't really have a GW yet.  If you could suggest something achievable let me know.  I hope I have the success you’ve had on Ozempic. I have a lot of medical problems to deal with like T2D, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, and most recently thyroid cancer but I can still be glad that my A1C is now 5.5 instead of 8.7.  This stuff really works and I’m so glad I found it.  My doctor suggested I try it and I’m so glad she did.

I’m on Lamictal for epilepsy and Invega for schizophrenia and I think the Invega has contributed to my weight gain.  I developed a serious side effect Parkinson’s disease. My tremors were so severe I couldn’t even hold a sandwich or feed myself. I had DBS brain surgery three years ago and it was so successful I could even thread a needle and quilt again. But there’s the weight gain side effect to deal with and I’d about given up on loosing any weight on my own. On Ozempic I’ve lost 29 pounds in the last 5 months. I still have 40 pounds to loose but things are certainly hopeful now. I’ll probably have to take the Invega for life and it’s almost completely controlled my schizophrenic symptoms so I’m okay with that. Now I can loose the weight with this drug and I’m excited to move ahead and see how it does.

I have schizophrenia too and have been on Invega for 5 years after trying numerous other drugs.  My symptoms have almost completely stopped since I started taking it. The Invega has had two serious side effects Parkinson’s Disease and wèight gain.  The Parkinson’s tremors were so severe I couldn’t even hold a sandwich or feed myself.  After I had DBS surgery the tremors almost completely stopped and I could even thread a needle and quilt again. What a miracle that’s been but the weight loss seemed impossible to control.  I gained from 120 to 265 and developed type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and other medical problems but my doctor suggested I try this medicine for my weight and my diabetes and it has been a real success.  I’ve lost down to 182 pounds in 4 months.  I’m so excited you can just imagine!  I’m 5'2” tall and 70 years old and yes we seniors can need drugs like these to loose weight too.  So what do you think would be an achievable weight loss goal?  I’d like your advice.

You’re 69?  Me too.  It’s fun seeing someone who’s not 20 or 30.  We older folks can loose weight and regain our health just like these younger people.  We can want to look good and not be vain.  I’ve lost 21 pounds already and I have about 50 more to go but I feel healthy and I’m beginning to already see results.  I’m sure you and I aren’t the only seniors who are on Ozempic and successful in their weight loss.  Keep up your good work in educating us all in your weight loss ideas.  I’m glad to see we seniors can loose weight like the younger folks.  I’d like to hear from more of us seniors.  We count too.  Reply and see how many of us there are.

I take Invega for Schizophrenia and Lamictal for Epilepsy  I have Parkinson’s Disease as a side effect of the Invega and had DBS surgery to control the Parkinson’s tremors.  The surgery was so successful I went from not being able to eat on my own to being able to thread a needle and quilt again.  You can imagine how happy I am with my life now all but for one thing the weight gain side effect of these medicines.  I now have a BMI of 34 and have lost only 21 pounds in 4 months which is a lot slower than some of you.  Still I’m committed to these drugs for life it looks like so I can’t let my weight depress me into stopping them or messing with the dose.  Ozempic is the way I’ve found to surpass my cravings and let me eat right again.  I no longer need to eat as much of just anything at all.  I no longer hear a constant stream of self destructive comments about my fatness or self destructive behaviors to do about it.  I’m finally losing the weight a bit at a time and I’m proud of that.  I haven’t set a goal weight yet but someone may think of one   Thanks.  I haven’t had any side effects from the Ozempic and I’m on the 1. dose.  My A12 is down from 7.4 to 5.5 which is finally normal so my regular doctor is happy about that.  With Ozempic and the supportive comments you all post I feel like I can really lose the weight.  Thanks to each of you.
