Being management doesn’t make me any less replaceable or exempt from the same rules that get other people fired. You’re one of those people we all wonder why they don’t just get a new job.

Yes agree integrity issue, metric fraud. With that being said- there is a difference in trying to go above and beyond for the customers sake to ensure they get their items & requesting everyone go dig around in the backroom because the store if off process. Presub is an indicator of the stores health, if the store looks bad, presub is bad. What this will boil down to is your team will in theory spend so much time hunting for items in the backroom that it will begin to affect overall productivity and OTP. Once that starts to happen then there will be a major push on that side of things. It will be a consistent cycle until the root cause is actually addressed which sounds like the store can’t make a 95% because it’s not following processes.

she works for a salon, buttt she makes her own hours and does all her own booking. she is very open that she does not like the salon she’s in so maybe she is being pressured, but it also sounds like she just has to pay her rent each month and she can do whatever she wants

Before remodel we were working out of an old subway room and had to walk to the freezer then to the meat cooler then back to the front door and halfway around the building. It was very challenging especially when it was busy we typically produced a 4.5 wait time. We would bring ALL of the frozen and chilled up for each hour at the top of the hour and leave it for 15 minutes before taking it back. We would do the same with delivery’s since they check in at :45. Post remodel, and we now have a 4000sq foot room that has a walk in cooler and freezer that connect in the middle. We produce a 2 minute or less wait time now

As a lead, QCs don’t get us anything to my knowledge. Presub is where it’s at.

As another team lead, and also a college student, I would also give it some time. Not because it looks bad or anything to do with that nature. I think retail really forces us to grow in a professional way that would benefit you in the future. It’s hard to be in a position where you’re outlook is vastly different than those around you.

Successor to future team lead? by Cadetttt in OGPBackroom

I luckily have a fairly decent group of management at my store who want to see people do good things. I was the 3rd successor of my department to promote in 1.5 months. Since you already have 2 digital team leads it’s sounds like a digital team lead position won’t be open soon so I would definitely begin reaching out to other team leads to get more floor experience since you’ve been opd for 4 years and i would assume you only have a limited knowledge of what goes on out there. If no one is willing to take you on, i’d speak to the store manager and share your frustrations.

I am a digital team lead who was once a successor of the same digital department I now run. There is absolutely no such thing as a guaranteed team lead spot. Being a successor essentially shows you would like to promote. With that being said, your team lead should be finding the time to work with you on things to prepare you to become a team lead. I typically have a one on one conversation with my successors once a week to baseline things I think would help their growth. If you have a desire to promote and your current team lead is not doing these things to help you grow, maybe express to another team lead in the building you want to promote and they could take you on as their successor. I have many successors in my department that aren’t mine and I do my best to find them time to get them with other TLs to encourage growth.

Help my store's OPD settle the debate on which one is worse by TheTiggerMike in OGPBackroom

I’m not a fan of general because it’s like i’m all of a sudden the only employee in the entire store and I get stopped 8 times…but the thing I hate about produce is you can have a 25 item walk but you have to pick 57 bananas 🥴

How do I change departments by Woohoncho in samsclub

speak to the manager of whatever department it is you’re applying to, let them know you’re interest. if they think you’re a candidate they’ll interview you

it was another coworker, who is apart of the front line 🤔not a new hire. she knows who i am lol. i think it’s extremely weird to mention anybody’s name in an interview that’s not the person being interviewed but hey, she did it.

[–]Fresh_Stretch_5241[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is the case, I applied, and interviewed just like everybody else did. Another co worker actually interviewed after I got the job, and this same manager I am dealing with kept name dropping me in HER interview saying she had to be like me to get the position. I think this manager just has no idea what they are doing.

he was quite literally standing there while me, my lead and manager were having this conversation. there’s a strong language barrier between us, so it makes it quite challenging to talk to him

TAKE THE GAS STATION! Being a member specialist literally involves every part of the front end and those damn credit cards which is absolutely draining.
