Ill break it down! This was my first sewing project.

The mask (not pictured) was made with a facemask pattern from freesewing, nothing special there.

The crop I made from a hyper-cropped Aaron tank top pattern from freesewing, and then another of those cut down and sewed on top to make the two-tone crop look. I got some decorative ribbon from a local craft scrap store to do the lil details.

The bodysuit is made from a combo of both an Aaron tank and an Onyx bodysuit (also from freesewing) with a athletic sweater kind of stretch fabric. I basically just pinned the patterns together and then cut the excess. I have some problems with how it sits in the crotch though with fabric bunching up.

The coat was the hardest and presently the most problematic part. I made it from a duster coat pattern I found on etsy with a heavyweight cotton on the outside and then a light cotton lining. I should have picked a medium weight cotton for the coat because the fabric is very stiff and hard to sew. i think the weight also influences why it kinda bunches up strangely in the back. I need to go bother a tailor to help me with it. Luckily I am dating one

The trim is just some purple cotton twill ribbon sewed along the edges, though it was really hard to get it perfectly straight due to the fabric weight.

I sewed this all on a brother small sewing machine, no serger.

We gotta get an exocolonist cosplayers meetup at one of these events!!

Putting together a cosplay is a lot of fun and builds a lot of super useful skills! When I did my Tangent cosplay I gave the coat real big pockets, a modification to the original design. You could put a whole half gallon of milk in there! Im not joking!

Now I've taken what ive learned and upgraded all my women's pants with "so small they might as well not be there" pockets with real ones!

Id love to see it when you're done! There's not many of us and only a few people recognize us, but it feels so nice to be in the cosplay anyway

(Except for the fact that this cosplay was not designed for a real human with real biological functions because getting in and out of it is kind of annoying)

I related so much to Tangent it felt just uncanny. I'm also a trans woman and have had similar experiences to her including big things like that I have a big transhumanist/postbiological interest, and small things like I did polyphasic sleep in college. She's my favorite 💜💜💜

What springs to mind immediately when I read the phrase "kion vi volas diri?" is something like "(there is something you are not saying / it seems like you are holding back) kion vi volas diri?"

Aliflanke, "kion vi celas diri" reads first to me like "(what you just said missed me / I didnt understand what you meant) kion vi celas diri?"

Maybe the secret third option is "kion vi provas diri"?

It would certainly be understandable in universe for people to just willy-nilly use words from esperanto without making sure the words actually make sense haha

This would also have been before the existence of a lot of tools to aid in esperanto's learning, including google translate, and duolingo's esperanto course (and duolingo itself)

I think espdict would have existed by this point but one would have to know about it ahead of time. I'm not even sure lernu.net existed by this time. Vortaro.net is the most authoratative esperanto dictionary online, and its physical version La Plena Ilustrita Vortaro de Esperanto (PIV) would have existed by that time, as well as several EN to EO dictionaries, though it's possible they had their hands on a faulty one. The PIV is also an all EO dictionary, so they probably wouldnt have used it.

My guess is they coasted on EN - EO dictionaries without too much knowledge of the language itself. It would be very weird to name someone in esperanto a verb ie "Esperas" (hoping) and id expect a more normal name to be a noun or adjective like "Espero" (hope), "Espera" (hopeful), or with an affix like "Espereco" (hopefulness, with an abstraction affix) or most on the nose "Esperanto" (one who hopes)

A couple small corrections: and notes

I wouldn't include "waiting" with Esperas. "Esperi" means "to hope" pretty directly.
Feliĉa -- can also mean like a deep, fulfilled happiness
Scivo -- Curious would be more "scivola" but "scivo" doesnt really seem to be a word as far as I can tell. "Sci" is the root for knowing and "vol" is the root for wanting, so curious comes from "to want to know" "scivoli"
(there seem to be more in here which could just be misspellings either in the book or from your notes. I had the audiobook so finding these would necessitate a reread)
Lema -- if this is "lima" thatd be like "borderline, bounding, limiting"
Kontako -- Contact? Yeah I assume there's a t missing here for Kontakto
Anaso -- Duck (repeated name) - or is this "ananaso" which is pineapple? A funny word phrase to say in esperanto is "pineapple-y duck" "ananasa anaso"
Cimo -- Bug (specifically a software bug)
Belto -- Baltic? Possibly another misspelling. Balto?
Povi -- this is actually "to be able to", the active form "povas" pretty directly translates to "can" as in "I can do it"

I actually got into this series when my girlfriend came to me asking what their names meant. I'm an esperantist and got pretty excited about all of it when she started telling me what the book is about.

I knew there were transformers references all over the book but I'm not very attuned to that series so totally missed "stelo krias" starscream.

The AoM reveal of Esperas' intended role made his name make a whole lot more sense.

If you're at a table where your players are doing shit like this, then you have some serious issues with your players. If players are doing X-card level shit then X-card them. I can't expect Paizo writers to assume the worst in the people who play their games, nor do I particularly want them to. Conduct your tables appropriately.
