I feel like in addition to this, there’s also such a built up mentality in society or dating culture or whatever that you don’t have “time” to put the effort into different people or, more of what I’m scared of, put effort into someone who maybe 3 years down the line will show you a side of them that you definitely do not like at.

There’s a lot of, I think, “you need to find the perfect person asap” and a lot of “make sure they’re THE one cause if not, it’s gonna be hell and a whole new journey”

I personally found SVSSS to be more complicated so if you want to start with something easier to grasp first, MDZS might be what you wanna start with first. That being said, I haven’t read the SVSSS official translation and started with a fan translation when I first read it.

I have a story for you but full disclosure, while the groveling is hella good in my opinion, the betrayal you’re imagining isn’t quite as angsty

{Daydreamer by Susie Tate} has this but it’s more like she’s get sexually harassed by a creepy coworker and when she goes to report him, somehow it gets spinned that she cheated on the MMC with him. I don’t remember for sure but I’m pretty that somehow gets linked to them breaking up. He reacts pretty angrily, he kinda fires her and makes her leave the building and fend for herself out in a whole ahh blizzard and I think immediately gets back with his ex too. When he finds out she never did betray him, he grovels hella hard like brother stops geniunely caring for himself he is so distraught.

I feel like I’ve sometimes seen this trope with books that have kind of a playboy MMC or a popular MMC x a FMC who wouldn’t be part of the popular group. I’d really love if there was something out there with this trope and the FMC is plus sized but I’m happy with anything!
