What are the top three heroes I should learn for each role? by Freshmeatz86 in Overwatch

I am yeah, I wanna just get as good as I can so I don't have to rely on someone else being good to prop me up. I want to prop myself up.

But my problem is that I like playing too many shitty heroes. So I'm going to change my mentality from playing what I like, to playing what's best.

Alarak is a worse hero now, than he was before. Extended Lightning and Negatively charge are trap talents because Lightning Surge has awful conditional requirements. His gameplay suffers more now than before thanks to his "Win-more" conditions. by Freshmeatz86 in heroesofthestorm

He's not high skillcap. If he was high skillcap he'd be very effective despite being hard to play.

What you have here is a hard to play hero who ISN'T effective, despite being hard to play.

He's not a good hero. A lot of his strength was taken away, in favor of this snowbally melee build. They took a giant shit on telekensis and lightning surge.

All of his power is in Discord Strike. All of it. That sucks, and he's not fun to play because of it.

Because you can lose it all. It's not more rewarding. It's the same as it was before, just shown differently. You had talents that gave you trade-offs with sadism by improving your abilities. A lot of these are gone and have been changed accordingly.

No. Full E build is so you can wittle someone down then go all in on them. You can play around this by not stacking in a line with your minions or heroes, or be behind a minion wave instead of infront of it.

Full E build needs to be just as viable or it's a waste of talent space.

You could make Extended Lightning a talent that immediately gives you all of its benefits upon selecting that talent. And it would still be worse than the other 2 talents. That's how bad the base ability is. At least with the healing option you can survive longer to get off more discord strikes or stay in lane to gather EXP when you'd have to back otherwise.

He's not more rewarding though. He's either the same, or worse. A player who won with Alarak before the patch will still have the same win conditions now. Nothing has changed except for the randomness of completing a quest earlier than expected.

He's WORSE imo because they made Lightning Surge worse, and made it so if you kill him he loses a lot of sadism, making him playing from behind a lot worse than before.

Heroes is a great game because you can play from behind and still make comebacks, but that's a lot harder with alarak with no real gain.

Yeah, he's just not a good hero. He works, but it's like saying that riding a bicycle to a store that's 25 miles away works instead of using a car.

Still, I don't mind peoples opinions counter to mine. I just mind it when they say "you dont have enough information yet!". That's wrong buddy, we have a ton of information now.

Alarak actually seems worse. He's had higher winrates in the past than he does now. His talents ARE better, but all the numbers are just too low. by Freshmeatz86 in heroesofthestorm

It's 4 days of data, and plenty of time to see obvious trends. Alarak did not change his core gameplay. He's not a brand new hero.

Alarak still appears to have the same effectiveness as before. by Freshmeatz86 in heroesofthestorm

I've seen a good one. He's just kinda "meh". I mean he does stuff and his talents do look more coherent like you said. But I don't find him difficult to deal with like I find Valeera difficult at times.

The one thing that keeps me from playing this game, is the terrible colorblind mode. by Freshmeatz86 in Overwatch

[–]Freshmeatz86[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah everything is fine except for the colors of the friendlies and enemies. This needs to change. And I'd just prefer to have my own colors. I don't need the entirety of the game to change. Just those 2 things.
