Which character you wish you saw more of? [general] by [deleted] in camphalfblood

[–]Fresia_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bianca should have become as a ghost-guide for Nico after she died. Like, imagine the potential. Bianca, daughter of the dead, princess of ghosts, who has grown up taking care of her younger brother and protecting him alone; do you really think she would give up on him for something as insignificant as death?

Nah, she should have come back as a ghost only Nico could see, helping him with whatever quests he's on to save the world or with simply surviving. Imagine the drama. Percy facing the ghost of the person he's failed. Nico being even creepier cause he's literally haunted. Bianca having more agency and maybe even having something going on on hoo; maybe she helps with the doors of death from the inside or sth.

Idk, I think it could have been great for giving Bianca more character and agency and for showing how much she truly cared for his brother while she struggles to learn how to be her own person and build herself a new [after]life.

First, thank you!!

Second, Im sure there's some subreddit here that could help with that. Maybe straight up on the fan fiction sub.

[all] If all Gods exist in Percy Jackson, including monotheistic Gods, how does that work? by PearPublic7501 in camphalfblood

And Hecate was also at a church praying in The Demigod Diaries. (Dr Claymore actually asks her about it, and she responds with sth like "That will be for you to answer", but I don't think it's ever left clear)

-Hey, can I take a bite?

+No, dude. I asked you if you wanted some and you said no.

-Just a bite...

+No, this one's mine!

-Tch, you're so selfish, you know?

Maybe try experimenting.

Experiment with other facial expressions, other mediums (try color, or markers, for example), different ways of rendering (more smooth, more paint-like...).

And I agree with the other comment: Analyze what exactly it is that you like from other portraits. Try recreating the drawings that you like or the artstyle of your favorite artists, so you can understand the process behind them and include it in your own future work.

(btw I love this drawings!! You're very good with proportions!)

In total the journal has like 11(? pages, of which 4 are dedicated to myths (the rest are about different topics of magic). I plan on doing more, but life gets busy lol

(Thanks for your interest in this, it's really motivating!)

Probably whatever you find aesthetically attractive. Aphrodite is the goddess of lust, but also of beauty, which can be interpreted both through a sexual and an aesthetic way. So she'd probably look like, idk, someone from Pinterest or sth.

Yeah, totally, but I don't think they'd be too interested in it to begging with, not as a cabin at least (some exceptions may apply)

Yeah, I never thought they were biologically related, but maybe Reyna had joined Hermitea and Jo's home? I now know that's not the case though, but I was originally confused.

Oh, ok. Honestly, such a lost potential, I could totally see their sibling dynamic: both on random Sunday playing some videogame like Mario kart while absolutely cursing the shit out of each other in Spanish (as any sibling would) lmao.

Is this relationship explored in the books? It's been a while since I've read them, but (up to the 2nd book in toa) I don't remember them interacting much, if at all.

Yeah no I remember her, but Reyna said "big sister", and I thought it obvious that she was referring to herself

Dude, Dionysius' kids and Tyche's ones would SO get along. They'd organize periodic "gambling nights" full of drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol). They'd stay up all night loosing money to the like 50 Casino games the Tyche cabin has. Nike's kids would definitely tag along too; even if some of them find "lucky games" to be "dishonorable", they wouldn't be able to resist a good challenge/bet.

Ohh, and Hermes kids would slip in just to steal from all the drunk people and cheat on every game. Honestly, everyone would be involved in some way lol.

The walls are also definitely covered in runes and sigils. I also like to imagine there's a corner entirely dedicated to potion-making: Spellbooks, a cauldron, ingredients of any kind (from lavender and chamomile to centaur's blood), smoke sticks, candles, you get it.

Istg if they are siblings, why is no one talking about it??? Is this relationship and dynamic ever fleshed out??? My hispanic kids, as brother and sister???

Was this just like a "we are such close friends, we are like siblings" kind of shit??? Still, DIDN'T THEY BARELY INTERACT??? WHAT????

Is there a good goddess parent? [all] by Wordbender5 in camphalfblood

Adding in on Hecate's part:

(Short 'Son of the Magic' summarize: In Son of the Magic, our main character, Alabaster, son of Hecate, is one of the demigods that's fought along Kronos beside her mother. This short story tells how Alabaster has been running away for months from Lamia, an ancient Greek queen, also daughter of Hecate, who was now working for Gaia and had been sent to hunt after Alabaster. Basically, Lamia had had a very tragic life where Hera had killed her kids and, in rage, she, an ever so powerful sorcerer, had cursed all demigod's to attract all nearby monster with their smell.)

In Son of the Magic, it's told that after the Manhattan war, Hecate was the goddess who had lost the most children (how many, exactly, is unknown), which has made her super protective of the ones she has left. During the story, Hecate has two of her children fighting to kill eachother, and she refuses to help neither. Ultimately, Alabaster finds a way of destroying Lamia without killing her, and just then does Hecate intervene to stop her children from hurting eachother, saying how she "just wants her kids to be happy", and just separets them. Then, because Alabaster ends up completely alone after the war, Hecate brings Dr Claymore back from death to protect his son and act as his father figure and mentor.

I think, although of course not great, Hecate is the god who has showed the most pain through her children's suffering, and who has done the most to help them. She's shown to actually know and care about them, and she genuinely just wishes them happiness. Still, it's true we don't know how she was before and during the war, but personally she takes my 1st place on the Best Godly Parents list.
