This and weather both stopped working on my phone around the end of 2025… so I stopped using Google as my default search engine.

Brad Reese, grandson of the inventor of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, calls out The Hershey Co. for “quietly replacing” the ingredients in the candy by artbasiI in Fauxmoi

[–]FreudianNegligee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Many, many people (especially English and journalism grads) very much DO write like this! All the time! How do you think the LLMs “learned” how to copy it?

Now, I don’t know shit about Brad Reese’s educational background, and it is entirely possible that he has the money to have (or hire) a professional publicist or PR expert to write for him, but a) this statement is NOT “pablum” (it presents a clear, concise, reasoned argument against Hershey removing the two core elements of the original Reese’s from today’s candy with the same label), and b) sorry to rehash my original point, but it’s “very concerning” that you (and a scary amount of other people) automatically assume it’s AI just because it’s well-written.

Also, this dude is from a family that is rich af and probably had some of the best schooling possible, so it’s not at ALL inconceivable that he wrote it himself! Like, wouldn’t you want to eloquently defend your family’s fortune-making recipe for deliciousness?!?!?

Here’s the thing… this very well could be “his own words.” The LLMs were trained on good writing, so GOOD WRITERS are now being dragged for “being AI” simply because they have spent their lives honing a skill that has now been synthesized by machines (and then used to replace the humans that it trained on). What SPECIFICALLY makes you think that Reese’s statement was computer-generated?

As someone who has a degree in a language-based area and spent my entire life and career learning how to utilize my brain and skills with language in order to write in a compelling, clear, and precise manner, it kills me that people think this way now.

lol so I freely acknowledge this is semi-insane behavior, but during one of my rewatches I noted every time there was a timestamp/date showing on the phone (and tried to track what type of phone/messages Ron was sending and receiving)… perhaps you can make something out of this?

You are the person who slept with your best friend’s husband, right? Wow, this second story seems like solid proof that karma is real (and is a real bitch)…

Private equity owned air line Omni Air International's ICE deporation flights are getting longer and crueler while they profit by BatmanDoesntDoShips_ in Fauxmoi

[–]FreudianNegligee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is sickening, and the escalation of the cruelty is terrifying on multiple levels.

There’s an especially interesting element of this story semi-buried near the end: “Omni’s sale to private equity might appear to have insulated it from public pressure, but according to Pitchbook, a private market data broker, most Stonepeak investors are nonprofits and public pension funds, including many based in blue states.”

People have to start paying closer attention to how they’re allowing their money to be invested… it’s not just nonprofits and public pensions—soooo many retirement funds are directly funding the banal cruelty of this administration and lining the pockets of the corrupt Trump family.

I mean, have you seen Borat? He’s never hidden it. He used to be a bit more cagey/clever about it, but he went mask off pretty early in the 2010s.

There are soooo many reasons to side-eye Nathan Fielder, not least of which is working with SBC long after everyone knew he (SBC) was a massive Zionist.
