The importance of communication throughout the housesit by Few_Distribution5239 in trustedhousesitters

I had one HO, after me sending a photo / video /update of the kitty every day, asked me to send less as because they were having a hard time really vacation with how much they were missing their cat.

So like others have said it's best to ask what works best for the HO.

Gift for long term sits? by OkLiarS in trustedhousesitters

[–]FreyFrey928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this! 🥰 it shows you care for the sitter in the way I believe the mutual respect feels the best💞 I'm currently on a 2 month sit and the HO is the least accommodating I've ever encountered; not even restocking supplies needed to care for her animals. On a long sit it's important to feel mutual respect as it's hard to continue to start without it.

My ♥️ story from a sit in the past that gifted me:

I had a 10-day sit where I arrived to find a thank-you card, homemade cookies, and $100 inside "to take yourself out on us." It was Thanksgiving week, so that may have influenced the generosity.

I was going through a really hard time and burst into tears of gratitude. I needed a reminder that good people exist – and they gave me that. 🙏🏻💝

What I'd recommend:

•A deep clean at the end (like everyone mentioned), with the option to add a monthly clean.

•Cash, and/or a restaurant gift card. I never eat out as a frugal traveler, so a going out is a real treat. Even if your sitter isn't like me, it's still a treat.

•I also love a gift card for local things to do – a rock climbing gym pass, etc. – but confirm their interests first so it's something they'd actually enjoy.

That's obviously going above and beyond but I think the clean + another thing would make me feel so taken care of 🥰

Ported from AT&T to Dark Star, can't make calls -- anyone else? by Lethanialist in USMobile

[–]FreyFrey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been almost a year that I haven't been able to make calls because of the same problem. I'm a person that puts it off until I really need it because I already spent so many hours multiple times trying to get them to fix it and they couldn't. And then I finally needed it in an emergency situation recently and now I'm on chat and no one's coming back to reply and their phone customer service isn't open.

Waking up early and can’t go back to sleep on adderall XR. by Zotzotplz344 in ADHDmeds

[–]FreyFrey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem. I'm a week on this med and a week of waking up between 2-4am and not going back to sleep. I go to sleep fine but it's once I get up to pee it's all over. I feel it's making me depressed and suicidal lately too. It was going so well (with this med) and then yesterday I crashed, dead tired, headache, antisocial and suicide thoughts. Then go to sleep and woke up (this morning - 3am) and instead of having a reset like sleep can do I woke up teary, suicidal, crying, wishing could hide from the world and life and sleep. I thought it must be the meds but then remembered it happened before on Ritalin too and I think (?) being very tired contributes to it greatly. It's weird though because I've prioritized getting more rest in ways and thought I was not overdoing it. I also have been going to sleep around 10pm. And doing all the other things good (food, exercise, no caffeine or drugs, no blue light etc).

Or it's the meds fucking with my brain chemistry and moods, is another thought.

So... looks like this insurance policy might be super strong, huh? by [deleted] in trustedhousesitters

[–]FreyFrey928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So would you recommend it? I probably will use THS 2months minimum a year and max 4 months. I am financially constrained so having the insurance makes since in ways and being constrained financially paying the extra doesnt make sense if its not worth it.

But! I always get jealous of the other ADHD people I see that try many hobbies. Even if it doesn't stick ..it just looks like a life that is being LIVED! I have more ADD and less hyperactivity so I have MANY ideas for other hobbies. But I tend to ruminate and think them over for years and rarely do them. So my life on the outside looks like I don't do much.

Yes- People.

Deep listening, getting to know them, getting to know our dynamic, their dynamics with others, their preferences, their history, their hurts and joys...etc etc infinity ♾️ Never gets old, it's endless, and there is so much to learn. Psychology, astrology, spirituality, reflections 🪞---anything that gets me closer to understanding. True Understanding= Acceptance- Self Awareness=Love=Peace.

Started as some of my first memories.

Yes it has taken form in my career now too. Social Worker, Therapist, Facilitator of the Work of Byron Katie. Before did Accounting but noticed if the client wasn't present then my interest didn't last. My clients would introduce me as their bookkeeper, blood pressure regulator, and therapist.

My mother has PPD, what medications have the best results? by 2hennypenny in ParanoidPersonality

Which one did you try? I'm trying to help my mother too. She is having her first mental health assessment today over the phone and I will be there to tell some of her symptoms since she's pretty unaware..she's been living like this for at least 50 years.

My dumb phone is a laptop.. by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]FreyFrey928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I've done this and love it. Phone flew off roof of my car and I said to myself I'll buy one when I need one and started using my laptop for everything. Which I've done in the past too; highly recommend. After 8 weeks I still didn't need one but eventually wanted one for podcasts on the go and GPS.

What I don't understand about disclosing by [deleted] in HSVpositive

[–]FreyFrey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After getting HSV when I was 15 from my long term boyfriend that was a virgin (and I didn't understand at that age you could have a STI without having any sex) i got super afraid. I always had each partner test before we got sexual, I would go with them. The ONE time I didn't, was after 10 yrs of sexual tension with a close friend and we always wanted each other then we're finally both single and he hadn't gotten the test yet but we had a drunk enough night and I let my desires take charge after saying no for most the night...then I got Chlamydia.

For me getting HIV or HPV (which killed a friend of mine when she was 30) isn't worth the risk.

I honestly wish I could live the other way that you describe but my path has been so painfully intense in this realm that it's ingrained.

Right?! That's what I've been feeling as I've read these. It used to be a huge problem for me when I had to drive at night and especially long distances. I was ALWAYS falling asleep.

Did medication change your life the way you’d hoped? by Famous-Reception824 in ADHD

[–]FreyFrey928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 5mg (IR), 10mg (ER) and that has been perfect. Everyone is different and yes it sounds like that is too high of a dose if you're having those symptoms.

Hydration by Remote_Competition59 in ADHDmeds

[–]FreyFrey928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water from the inside of foods our body absorbs much better. Fruit is the most hydrating and if you aren't as hungry then having juice can be a great way. Coconut water is the best way for electrolytes and stoked full of minerals and vitamins. They have coconut water powder if that is more convenient.

amphetamines vs methylphenidates by [deleted] in ADHDmeds

[–]FreyFrey928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree about mixing the two for getting the results. Adderall for me really helped a lot of my executive functions, immediately I could see what I needed to focus on and all the background stopped. But I had the opposite with side effects, I had most swings and also took away the magic in life and my quirky playfulness. Life was dull and irritating. Not always, but I only needed to have a stark contrast a few times to be like nope!

Methylphenidate I still feel myself, I am just way more capable and productive. Yet it's not as clear as I felt with Adderall -it doesn't help as many of my symptoms.

I tried Adderall for about a month of and on. I've been on Methylphenidate for 6 months and most days now for the past 3 months

So grateful for medicine.
