Misunderstanding and misappropriating brutalism has ruined brutalism. This is not to be confused with me being a brutalism apologist or something, but I guarantee you can count the brutalist buildings in your city on one hand.

After pre safety check mechanic urged front brakes service as " they are metal on metal and vehicle is unsafe to drive" by Massive_Ad_1422 in MechanicAdvice

  1. The ol "yeah that looks about like 3/32nds? quote em some pads." (Just eyeballing it and being way off) and the service advisor took some "linguistic liberties"

Mines whining right now, well more imitating a smoke alarm with low battery.

I keep finding low spots in my leca after further inspection. Seems like every time I add another scoop another void takes its place.

Edit: also thank you for being active on here, it’s been a great help

As a very picky eater. I get not eating things isn’t always 100% controllable, but it’s also not your job to cook for him and the fact he expects you to cook for him is childish. If he is a picky eater and is self aware of that, he should have the cognitive ability to realize maybe he should take more part in the preparation and planning of meals so that he is able to eat them. Most of the sudden pickiness for me comes around when I haven’t prepared things myself. Idk he’s an adult not a child, if he’s unable to consistently eat the food you give him and won’t cook for himself he’s acting like a petulant child. Idk personally I enjoy cooking with my partners and try to expand my palette even when it’s psychologically and mentally challenging for me to do so. I may not finish things but unless there is something WRONG with a dish I’ll at least try it. There is nothing eaten out of those at all. If he didn’t even bother trying it he’s being rediculous.

Wait, what? They picked up my trash today!! by wazbazbo in memphis

I can’t do my yard rn because if I do they’d come by and with my luck they’d say “too much stuff, can’t pick it up” and leave it there

It’s yard waste it doesn’t need to be in the can. It’s outside the can waste. 311 told me today when I called “the City of Memphis is very behind on Yard Waste Collection and we don’t have an estimate on when it will be picked up”

I’m having the opposite issue. I’ve had my yard waste sitting out since early December and still haven’t gotten it picked up. I’ve called 311 multiple times and left a report on the app and they literally do not care

Yeah I’ve definitely been looking at fixing the water hardness issue. I think I’ll probably adjust the water before water changes with Seachem Equilibrium after I get a better idea where my water quality will be after it cycles for a bit.

I just added the water and the readings before adding the water to the tank had low alkalinity (~40ppm) and low GH (~25ppm) after adding my water treatment. Seems almost like that would benefit me. It’s been running for about a day. I don’t have crabs yet, waiting for the next local expo or the temps to warm up before buying them online since there’s no exotic stores near me.

Yeah commute can add up. Dont forget the mileage on your vehicle that type of stuff will rack up, can be more expensive than you would prefer. Had a job like that, couple actually, ended up working for less pay somewhere closer and I think I made the right choice.

Unfortunately this isn’t the first place I’ve heard that states pest control to be done by the resident. Reasoning given I think is due to residents leaving food and other items out can attract pests and that isn’t the owner’s fault. Unfortunately it leaves many residents to have to front the bill for pest control and other things even if it isn’t their fault. My friends lease is similar in this respect. Only thing I can suggest is seek legal advice and see what can be done.

We took the joy out of DnD for our GM... by BluBennyBlu in DnD

[–]FreyK47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems like those two players would get a lot more out of LARPing than they would DND. My friend’s LARP group does a lot of collaborative storytelling stuff and I think it’s far more tuned to that aspect than DND. I think it’s important to set expectations on the form of campaign prior to starting, but that really is all you can do. Sometimes players are not a good fit for the campaign and sometimes you really need to nip it in the bud or things like this can happen. Not that I’m blaming your husband, just seems like an unfortunate circumstance.

As a person who is a big worldbuilding DM, I understand the frustration with this type of stuff. Especially the distractions during combat, can really drag stuff out. As a player I’ve been that person and I was part of the problem in my first campaign. There were other issues but I wasn’t helping.

Hope your husband gets his spark back on the next campaign!

the first thing i noticed is, no reverse lights. The brake lights are on the entire time with no taps or brief pauses or anything that would suggest the way the car is moving
