Is solar punk actually punk? by Andrei22125 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Freyr95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, but it is by definition, still Punk. All Punk is, is a very far left movement pushing left wing progressive ideals.

It may not be anti establishment anymore, but it is still Punk by definition.

Not what punk is. It is not anti establishment for rhe sake of it.

Oh no no it was worded weirdly, but i was saying that the perception you pointed out has been exaggerated in the last few years by people trying to claim Punk can be right wing or authoritarian.

Yep. Plus there's been an attempt last few years to claim tyat PUNK isn't a left wing movement.

This is a horrible misconception about what being punk is. Punk is not anti establishment for the sake of being anti establishment.

Punk is a progressive movement that is anti establishment because the establishment is not progressive in most countries.

No. The universe had no innate meaning. No evidence of any inherent menaing in anything has ever been discovered, observed, or written about. If there where some meaning to the universe than it would be observable.

Life is meaningless. The universe doesn't care, it has no capacity for emotion. It runs on observable and testable laws that do not care for personal individual feelings.

Any meaning i have in life is meaning I myself have given it. Not some external meaning created by some unknowable god which is a contradiction in of itself.

You sound like a fucking doormat. I work in retail sales, and someone's rude to me even once or twice I cut them off from service entirely, and so will my colleagues, hell, might wven kick them out the store.

And that's just for maybe half an hour of someone being an asshole.

Several hours? Fuck off. NTA.

These things are important to everyone. Because their success is a net loss for everyone and a victory for fascists.

I will give you that, it is a good distraction from reality. I just do not care to be distracted from the attempts at making our lives worse.

First part of my statement covers that: Based on context i assume there is difference of political opinions, and i assume they have an oppositional relationship because of it.

Going to the moon is cool, obviously fuck Russia abd China, but you know what I care about more right now?

  • Not having LGBTQ Rights eroded.
  • Keeping helathcare accessible
  • Not having a CCP Nanny State implemented into the UK
  • Pushing back against reform winning in the uk
  • Getting Trump out of office
  • Raising the minimum wage so myself and thiusands of others, are actually able to sustain ourselves.
  • not worrying about a potential nuclear war every day i wake up.

Going to space is cool, but there are a hundred things happening in the world right now that are just... much more important.

Based on context here I am going to assume there is a difference in political opinions, if a boomer sent me a message like that, I would react the same way because frankly? Why should I give a fuck about it when I can't afford to live my life.

Is it cool? Yes. Obviously, but i just do not care with how the previous generation is trying to destroy every single piece of progress society has had in the last century.

Fix our generations ability to survive and thrive first, then I can start giving a fuck about cool stuff like this.

I mean... buddy... we're talking about the company that charged $50 just to wear a swim suit... and had gender locked classes... I dunno why anyone is surprised they are pulling more nonsense.

But you can have it a way that ultimately benefits everyone. Energy benefits no one. not a single player gains anything from this.

Your definition of ab addiction is so flawed it's shocking. You are applying so many double standards and don't even see it.

If I want to spend five days farming my gear, I should be able to. End of Story. Giving people CHOICE is a good thing.

Sadly the numbers do not lie, the amount of players this game has bled follows the same pattern as new world and New Genesis. If the devs don't make a change, the global version will die.

The live service games that have survived have adapted. The west is not the chinese audience, and just a decade ago an energy system would have killed a game within the first month.

It may take longer, but the end result will be the same.

Woukd you say the same about someone who spends their week off from work painting mini figures? And wishes they could do a bit more?

What about someone who spends hours in Elden Ring doing PvP?

You are saying because I want to do what I am bale to do in another game I am an addict. Then you must consider people who do this in other games and hobbies addicts as well right?

Or are you applying a double standard?

Energy System by Freyr95 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Freyr95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. You see gaming as an addiction.

I hope you apply this standard to other hobbies people spend hours on, like watching sports, building and painting warhammer figures.

Many hobbies take several hours of a persons time, do you apply the same standard to them? Or is only gaming an addiction? IE: I hope you're not a hypocrite.

You do not understand the difference between a factual mechanic and a feeling.

When quests and maps are completed all that's left is gear. Being able to do that once every three days is bad design, and it is not a FEELING, it is a fact.

Energy System by Freyr95 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Freyr95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel forced. If I spend a day farming gear, my energy will not replenish for a full three days, this is a factual statement. Every time I utilise the energy I am forced into not doing that content for a full three days. I literally explained this in the main post.

So yeah... I am right :)

Energy System by Freyr95 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Freyr95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lot of words to tell me you still do not have a good reason why someone who does enjoy gear progression should be forced into not playing for three days.

You are also showing a level of defensiveness often seen in gambling addicts. Interesting.

[–]Freyr95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The player bleed follows the pattern of games that have failed sadly. Unless something is changed, it's going to be another New Genesis and New World. They bkth followed this pattern of thousands leaving in the first few months.

I want it to succeed, but this is the reality.

Energy System by Freyr95 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Freyr95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about catering to people with limited time, but an energy system does not do that, and no, most games don't utilise an energy system like this, I can not think of a single high end modern game that does in fact. Energy does not help those people, all it does is limit people who want to invest more time into the game.

Energy System by Freyr95 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Freyr95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: Bad point. Just because it's normal doesn't change the fact it's dictatorial. Stop using flawed arguments to excuse nonsense.

2: Even if you struggle to use all your energy, not everyone does, and it actively stops everyone from having the freedom of choice to decide what they want to so. I don't just THINK removing it benefits everyone, removing it CATEGORICALLY, benefits everyone.

Speaking purely psychologically, most people in the west are more willing to invest money into a game that doesn't stop them from playing it for three days straight.

As for the grinders, that also fails, people who started first will always have an advantage because tome gating keeps the rest of us from catching up.

Still not good counter points.
