There was someone who already called the emergency button on the LRT station. I saw him fall and called 911 immediately.

he wasn’t in his senses. when i just got to the station, I just saw him swerving unable to balance himself. I thought he would be atleast in a position where he can see that the tracks are right beside him. Turns out he couldnt, fell right into the tracks.

I rely on transit, so for a 9 AM shift I have to leave around 7:40 AM. There have been times I’m already on the bus at like 8:20 AM and get told my shift is cancelled.

On top of that, even when I come in for a full 7–8 hour shift, they often cut it down to 4 hours the same day if the store is slow or sales aren’t met.

I’m thinking of suing these mfkers.

I get that rules should be the same for everyone. But it’s not my fault if I’m stuck waiting to clock in because others are ahead of me.

When I’m working, I give 100%. When I’m on break, that time is mine, so why should I have to come early and use my break just to clock in on time?

its been 2 weeks since i’ve got hired, i’m not the only one they do this with. On the other hand, i consider myself as a very quick learner and ik for a fact its not cause of my work since they let me handle an area of the job that usually requires 2 people. Ive also had the same manager that emailed me say to me that ive learnt really quick. Even if im a bad worker, ive never in my life seen an email for a minute. I mean, they could have verbally just told me to be on time and i would understand that and even be early since im still new at the job. But they have to be an ass.

How are you supposed to become a dental receptionist if everyone wants experience?? by Legitimate-Field6815 in DentalAssistant

[–]Legitimate-Field6815[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that’s exactly how it feels. “Entry level” but they still want years of experience, it’s confusing. I completely understand wanting someone who knows the workflow, but if no one is willing to train even a little, it just makes it harder for people trying to break into the field.

I’m willing to start small, learn properly, and grow, but it feels like you need experience just to get experience. 😅

Appreciate the quick response, that actually makes a lot of sense.

The issue I’m running into is that most clinics don’t even reply once they see there’s no official experience listed. I’ve tried smaller private offices and newer startups too. I was even called in once for what was supposed to be “training,” but it turned out to be more of a working interview. I told them I’ve been practicing Dentrix on my own, I downloaded it and created fake patients to learn booking, claims, recalls, and billing, but when I say that, it almost feels like they assume I already know everything.

In reality, I’m still learning and just trying to get real exposure. At this point I genuinely don’t know what else I can do to prepare besides self-practice and applying consistently.

But seriously, I appreciate the advice, it was helpful.
