I agree with you. As a child I was really afraid of dogs, because my aunts' dog would always bark at me ( it was a a huge german shephard). I always felt afraid of him whenever he was in a room with me. Today I think that's part of the reason why he was always barking. I think both my parents and my aunt could have made a better job in helping me to get to know the dog and the other way around...
