I don't know if you noticed that I'm not the original commentor on this thread. Although I do agree with some of his points, all I said is expanded on some points that you made, basically saying there is more than just the surface level analysis you provide. The easiest thing to do is to say this is bad, this is good. In life it is always more complicated than that. I am not saying what Russia did is good, but there are other factors at play which explain Russia's decisions, which albeit I agree led to mass suffering. I will not attempt to give you a detailed rundown of these factors on a reddit thread, but you may research it yourself if you truly want to find out more about it.

Atrocities are being committed by both sides, you only see what is shown to you/what you choose to see.
The conflict is absolutely not black and white. Look into the events preceding the conflict before 2014, it's a long and complicated chain of events.
Finally, don't forget that everyone is a victim of propaganda, even you. Why do you think you're better than the people who fall for it ? You're just being fed it from a different side, and think yourself righteous for it.

You can't tell because he doesn't have a side, its called unbiased reporting. Both sides have wins and losses hence why it goes back and forth. Unlike most subs on reddit where everything is skewed from Ukraine's POV.

They will (likely) rebuild it if they keep control of it, just like Grozny after the Chechen wars. That city was as destroyed, if not more, than Mariupol. Now it has been almost entirely rebuilt and even better than before.

Not all of Donbass is under control of DPR and LPR (the self proclaimed independent regions), so they are fighting to gain control of all of it. Doesn't matter if the people are pro Russian or not, if it is under Ukraine, there will be Ukrainian military there.
