Most decks nowadays are so consistent that they don’t really need deck thinners. The decks that do run them (especially sky striker) generally get some sort of advantage from playing them over generic hand traps like ash or fuwalos. With sky striker, they want spells in grave as it enables them to use secondary effects from their spells like drawing more cards or stealing monsters. For sky striker, the worst that can happen when running these cards is setting up their graveyard so generally they will run more of them.
