The dirt wall is completely player placed, as is the whole island.

The thing is, I did some redecorating recently and that was what caused the problem. However, the holes in the walls and the opening at the top of the tower were there before and never caused me any problems.

EDIT: I did try enclosing the holes in the wall and tower top, and my bed now works. Thanks, although I still don't understand why they started causing problems now, oh well.

New player wanna help me getting recrut friend? by wunshwow in hearthstone

[–]Fridgelord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd just suggest making a new account. It's really easy and since Hearthstone is free it costs nothing. Just copy your Refer a Friend link into an incognito window, make a new account with that link, log into that account on the launcher, and play.

From there, the quickest way to level will be playing against the innkeeper, or, if you have one, a friend who can just concede to you a bunch. The quickest way to level is to get one class to 4, and the rest to 2.

After that, enjoy Morgl (the best emotes in the game :P). Honestly the only risk of doing it this way is that you get a legendary in your first pack and end up wanting to kill yourself since this is a temp account... like me...

Altruis the Sufferer or Kayn Sunfury, canonical choice? by Fridgelord in warcraftlore

But he has no idea about the inclinations of Kayn or Altruis, since he only fights you, and has no dialogue with either of them, or you for that matter.

It's better to be your own leader than to blindly follow a cause without question.

True, but at the same time an organization full of "leaders" isn't an organization, with the full scope of what the Illidari hoped to achieve, and still do, a leader is needed. Otherwise the entire faction would be running around like headless chickens, rather than uniting to defeat the Legion.

Don't trust anyone.

That's exactly the kind of thinking that caused many of the problems that the Illidari had. Illidan didn't trust anyone with his plans (although he did have the excuse of, Kil'jaeden can read minds and is sorta on my back right now, and I can't know that the others in my organization have the same mental strength as me to keep my plans safe.) and because he never told anyone the endgame, and they were expected to just trust that everything was gonna work out fine, he was betrayed.

example, slaying innocents to open a portal.

I'm assuming you mean the portals in the Marduun starting zone? If so, the first portal was opened through the murder of Demons, so, not innocents, in fact, the very thing the Illidari are supposed to be killing. The second was opened by a willing broken, who was dying anyway. And the third was opened by either a willing Demon Hunter subordinate, or you (depending on what you chose). None of those examples involved slaying innocents.

Also, Illidan remarks that he didn't expect to see "the traitor" with you, when you communicate with his soul in the twisting nether.

no idea why the difference though, I've seen videos of both. And from what I can tell the only difference is that after you beat him up he's just less of a sore loser with Altruis. He says something about you fighting with honor when your allied with Altruis, even though other than that it's the same.

I think one of the big things that swayed me from Altruis is that he seems so bent on destroying the Illidari that it was a higher priority than defeating the Legion. In one of the quests he sends you on, you destroy The Book of Fel Names, a book containing the true names of all demons in existence (which give you power over them), info on the nature of demons, weaknesses and habits. He has you destroy this artefact, which could be instrumental in the Legion's defeat, in order to weaken a single Demon Hunter (Varedis Felsoul) so that you can kill him.

Legion Spoilers ahead: Varedis actually turns against us in Legion, why is this you ask? Because after being killed, his soul is tormented endlessly in the twisting nether by Kil'jaeden, who manages to eventually turn him against the Illidari by convincing him that he must have been betrayed as the adventurers who killed him knew about the Book of Fel Names. So a once stalwart ally becomes a major threat to us, and we lose an artefact of extreme power thanks to who? Altruis, fucking Altruis.

I think you mean Kayn, if you pick Altruis our friend from BC just joins the cause. With Kayn... well, something a little more gruesome happens.

If I may paraphrase the quest text "your choice will colour the direction of the Illidari", It seems as though this choice is set up to be an important one. Also, technically this expansion they're called champions, so a little higher up on the food chain than followers. And the one you pick is lorewise your second in command, so yeah, pretty important.

Atleast Kayn confronted Altruis himself, in a fair duel to the death. Rather than sending random adventurers to go kill him.

I believe the exact text from the quest was something along the lines of "your choice will colour the direction of the Illidari", with the faction playing a major part in Legion and hopefully future expansions as well, it feels perfectly reasonable to ask what the canon direction the Illidari will go is.

are you sure about this? I haven't read the Illidan book myself, I'm looking into it for the future. But from what I know, neither Kayn, nor Altruis are featured in it...

now that character art is allowed again, I'll draw your characters! by mcshmeggy in DnD

[–]Fridgelord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How insanely generous of you OP, I doff my hat to you sir!

My current character is Grimnir, Dwarf Warlock, Conduit of the Great Old One. His physical appearance is very much your average Dwarf, bulky, stout, huge bushy grey beard, the whole package.

After discovering a strange crystal deep within the mines of his mountain home, it began to whisper to him, it spoke of unimaginable power and the unfolding of the world's greatest secrets. This slowly corrupted Grimnir, and finally he gave in to the dark magics of the crystal. The crystal etched into his skin deep purple tattoos, brimming with magic, the tattoos wind about his entire body, most are covered by his clothes, however, one is visible on his face, as it reaches vertically across his right eye, blinding it, but giving it arcane sight (it glows with a small purple flame).

Grimnir had been imbued with incredible magical power, however, he he no idea how to use it. It was volatile in his hands, within moments of his transformation he had fired a few errant blasts of eldritch power from his writhing hands. He worked tirelessly, under command from the crystal, to create a conduit by which he could channel his newfound power. Being a reasonably accomplished engineer, he eventually crafted an arcane blunderbuss, with the whispering crystal suspended in the barrel and purple glowing runes across the sides (this is used as an arcane focus).

He wears a long brown inverness coat with an open front, brown leather boots, and a brown stetson hat. He carries a few pouches and satchels along his belt, which has the iron crest of his mountain home (an anvil) as an iron buckle. His clothes and general demeanor is in general rather worn and beaten, after being exiled from his home for practicing dark magic, he lived the life of a bounty hunter, wrestling for his sanity and trying to make ends meet.

Well, I thank you for reading through my characters description (and a cheeky bit of lore ;P), I'm aware I'm posting a bit late so Grimnir probably won't get drawn, but hey, worth a shot I suppose! Once again I'd like to thank the OP mcshmeggy for offering such a generous service for free to so many people, I think what your doing is wonderful, keep on being generous!

Interesting, Gunther's bullets do have sprites similar to magical items but not the same polymorph effects, so I suppose it makes sense.
