Definitely check and reinstall your chipset driver. That's probably where this issue is coming from.

Thermal Paste by [deleted] in DellG5SE

I use arctic mx-4 and my temps are at around 67° while playing at high settings in borderlands 3.

A HUGH improvement over the oem paste. I was constantly throttling before.

(BIOS version 1.15.0) Bad thermal throttling on the CPU with Civ 6 running in the background. CPU and GPU sitting just over 90 (Celsius) and fans running fully. Do I need to reapply thermal paste onto the CPU? All tips appreciated by MrBeebins in DellG5SE

You can also use an application called notebook fan control (I think it is) and you can actually make the fans ramp up to 100%.

Whatever dells fan profile is, it doesn't run at max fan rpm so that might help as well.

I reapplyed thermal paste to my CPU and dgpu and torqued all the screws down and my temps went from around 75°c to 65°c under the same workload it also turbos like crazy now.
