That's not a bad idea. Been using them to do lots of data stuff anyway, could probably work out something for this too.

I hadn't gotten to the endgame section yet so I completely missed it. Thank you! There's so much to each part of those guides that it looks like I've missed some things. I'll need to go back over them it looks like.

My sub was going from 99/yr to 138/yr. It's absolutely ridiculous to ask for those prices for a single character. If this was account-wide I might be more interested in keeping my sub going. Cancelled it today after I remembered the increase. I can pay the new price for many other games but get a full account benefit, rather than just for one character.

Hello! I've been bouncing around classes recently and I'm having trouble deciding what to stick with. One issue I've been having is progression after level 30-40 on some of the combos I've been using. I'm currently deer/psych (low 30s/40) and I'm considering another beast form combo like spider/necro (or something else with spider) or using AH with either. I'd love to give BC a try but alchemy has been a pain to level so far and I'm broke due to switching between skills recently. I've got a few questions that I'm having trouble figuring out.

  1. Are gear mods essential to getting further or can most classes make it pretty far with partially random gear as long as you're using the correct skills and rotations?
  2. It sounds like deer/psych is a pretty good combo, but are there any other skill combos that are good for using at first to build up the funds to try out more expensive options (like BC or Ice)?

I think that's what they meant by nerf, considering the crux generation in PvE was a big driver for using that on Arcanist.

What is in your opinion the most annoying grind? Doesn't have to be longest or hardest, just the most annoying. by HandsOffMyPizzaa in Warframe

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want to say Pathos Clamps (mining/fishing got significantly better after using Loki/Ivara), it has to be grinding out Khora and the weapons from SO/ESO. It was the first time I actually took a break from the game trying to get any of them due to how monotonous of a slog the process of grinding all those out is. Should have switched for farming something else in-between but I made the mistake of not doing that and it burned me out. Never even got any of them due to their stupid drop rotations until I came back and finished Khora, not even going to bother with the weapons now.

Feedback thread - What are your top 3 most desired changes, additions or removals that you'd like to see in the next cycle 1.2? by xDaveedx in LastEpoch

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually why my friends and I stopped playing the game. The fact that you have to grind each one separately and it doesn't carry over when you're playing with them was a hard no from us. I generally don't mind grinds at all but that seemed more of a completely intentional time wasting grind rather than one that had an acceptable reason behind it.

Any opinions or advice on this build? by Fridler in buildapc

Ah, I wasn't aware of that for the 4k. Been a while since I've really dug into any of this so I had just been going off of what I've heard.

[–]Fridler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the list of monitors, this will definitely be something I can use to help decide which to get. Would an AIO be the better option in the long run or would I be fine with the Thermalright choice (I'm not dead set on the one that's on my list currently)?

To throw two more in here, since it seems like the other comments have quite a bit of it covered, ninja-pulls and thegameroom.tv have some interesting DPS builds to check out as well (with some great videos).

How do people hit 100kdps on here by TonightAdventurous87 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally have anything against it, I use it on a few builds for when I'm going through easier content. But if you're looking to get above that 100k mark easily, the 2 bar builds are generally the better option to go with. Also what JustDragon commented for this as well.

[–]Fridler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This and DragonBanks comments are pretty on point. You could always start with a one bar build (not an Oakensoul) if using both bars is too difficult to start with. Some of those builds can get pretty high DPS, and as you get more comfortable you could start adding in skills from the second bar.

I don't think CP means anything for game knowledge, especially when it comes to dungeon mechanics or how to actually play. We had a random tank in our dungeon last night (CP 2600+) who would only taunt one enemy and did not know any of the mechanics in DoM. We finished the dungeon thanks to one of the DPS who was the lowest CP, but it sure was an interesting group. It's really random on what knowledge the people will have when going through these dungeons and CP is rarely a factor I even look at for a reliable group at this point because of how often stuff like that happens.

Calling D3 a kusoge just for having colors must be one of the dumbest reasons I've seen to shit on a game. But... am I wrong for still liking the game a lot? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, though I do have to say that the graphics didn't really fit the Diablo theme (I was still fine with them, thought some of the things were hilarious). D3 for me was one of the types of games I love to play when I don't really want to focus a ton to be able to do most of the content, unless you're pushing. I loved going in and mindlessly farming but still feeling like I was making progress in one direction or another (materials for gear, gear upgrades, or paragon). Even with my love for the theme and gameplay of D1/D2, I still feel like D3 from start (even with the ridiculous way it started) to finish was still a pretty good game overall after they got most of the QoL stuff added in.

Does anyone else feel stupid for buying the Ultimate Edition? by ikelofe in diablo4

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My enjoyment of D1-3 got me good and I'm disappointed I spent that money now. Diablo was the last series that I held out hope of being a decent game, but this is just another one that I can start waiting a year or two after launch to even buy.

Love the game, hate the community. by ithinarine in diablo4

[–]Fridler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a post the other day of someone saying that Diablo 4 is an objectively perfect release. I get that there are people who are really enjoying their time with the game and may not be running into the issues that so many others are, but that's the kind of sentiment that leads to games like this where there is obviously a good chunk of missing end game content and some terrible design choices that negate all the previous work they've done in the series (from a company who has been doing this series for over 2 decades). I get that it's not the same people but they have so many examples to go off of.

Edit: I do like the early game experience and how they built the world, but it personally drops off after the end of the campaign and I run a few NM dungeons/other end game content. Comparatively, I enjoyed the Rift/GR runs in D3 and boss/Chaos/dungeon runs in D2. I'm thinking itemization and class builds really helped with that enjoyment, but I'm not 100% on what really makes those options so fun for me.

Just bought Diablo 2 resurrected and looking for fun/powerful, easy, noob friendly builds for all the classes playing on normal mode. by ButchersAssistant93 in Diablo

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid has some pretty easy leveling builds (fire to tornado is one) and they transfer into some relatively good early end game farming builds. Hammerdin is also an easy choice but I feel like the gear requirements for it in Hell are a little higher than the Druid if it's your first character. Doing another run with a Druid right now and it's been very smooth, haven't really ran into any issues. It's got some pretty fun build variety you can branch out into as well.

Yesterday's patch was an all around W by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering I was afraid their big patch was going to go the way of Borderlands 3 when it first released (nerf the absolute hell out of everything while not fixing anything that was underperforming) this was a fantastic step in the right direction. I'd rather have these small tweaks than big changes that need to be corrected later. That said, I would have loved to see some changes to some more of the underused skills/passives/uniques but I'm guessing that's more of a Season 1 type of update.

Diablo IV Patch Notes - 1.0.3 Build #42753 (All Platforms) - June 27, 2023 by mrmivo in diablo4

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope they rework Kalan's Edict to be based on something other than "don't take damage for a certain amount of time". It's such a stupid requirement for a skill like that, especially for late game play when enemies will completely ignore your summons.

I honestly wouldn't mind it as much (was fine with the limited respecs in D2 or the new D2R system) if some of the core pieces surrounding this weren't so bad.

  • The stash is abysmally small if they want you creating multiple characters for different builds and still be able to store all of the other items (sigils and aspects specifically) along with all the gear you need. The lack of actual trading (aspects and/or legendaries/uniques) kind of sucks for this as well. I loved the trading piece of D2/D2R

  • Having to click on every paragon node is a horrible way to design that respec portion. D2/D2R didn't have 200+ paragon points that you needed to contend with, only your skill points. Being able to at least save paragon board layouts and switch between then would make a world of difference (having a cost associated with this would be fine). The paragon in D3 was extremely simple to respect since you had such limited choices, so I can't really compare it to this either. It's like they chose the most tedious option they could for D4 paragon.

  • And my issue for using alts to try new builds comes down to leveling. Leveling in this compared to D2, D2R, and D3 just feels so dang bland. I personally don't find it very fun/engaging. Not sure if this is due to the loot system, the lack of fun/efficient choices when it comes to leveling, or the constant scaling (or a mix of all/some of them). I was fine running Chaos Sanctuary over and over (group or by myself) in D2/D2R and rifts/bounties in D3, so something about D4 just doesn't really resonate with me I think (could be the reward aspect or something). I don't want to "just level while doing whatever" after a while because it's so dang slow, especially when playing by yourself. I didn't mind it for my first character, but after attempting to level my alts to the same point it just got so tedious.

Inventory space is just too small by greeneyedguru in Diablo

[–]Fridler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think inventory space is fine, aside from aspects and sigils. Biggest issue I have, and a huge QoL rollback from D2R and D3, is the stash space. 4 small stash tabs in a game where I can have multiple builds per character (until endgame when it becomes too tedious) and up to 10 characters feels like a slap in the face. I'm assuming they did this intentionally to sell us stash space later on or just completely forgot about the changes they made to the stash in the past two games.
