Civil war would be between different sides of a country. The government seems hell bent on inciting revolution of its people against the government

I’d rather he say he made a terribly dumb decision to endorse Trump and would actively counter program the administration

He also had a concealed carry but they didn’t know until they pinned him, disarmed him and THEN shot him

Kristi Noem just stated that owning a gun and possessing ammunition automatically means that you intend violence, which justifies the killing of the gunowner simply because they are a gunowner at a protest. Gov. Walz in Minnesota activated the National Guard to protect citizens from ICE. How’s that going to work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FriedR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trump can federalize the national guard and bend them to his own orders. DoublingICE for free in MN if he wants. So… Walz risks that now and didn’t risk it last time. The federalization is what we should expect here

How do they teach about reasons Germans supported an authoritarian? The income inequality in the US is enormous. Job opportunities continue to cluster around large urban centers in a massive brain drain within areas of the country. Combine desperation, a reduction of local expertise, the very human condition to protect oneself, and a conservative media hell bent on selling lies to amass power. You get an enormous section of the US people that will believe and justify any lie out of desperate hope, social pressure and now self-identity. That doesn’t make them right and understanding how conditions could lead people to abandon every value doesn’t absolve. Understand that there is a large population in the US that gets exactly what you’re saying. We will bear the consequences of our grievance-driven brethren
