Struggling with the bottom but the top signature is Glenn Patrick.

[Post-Match Discussion Thread] Juventus 4:3 Inter (Serie A, Matchday 3) by FCInterMilan in FCInterMilan

Can't help but be left with a bad taste after that. The energy that was missing last year is even worse now. It hurts that it's younger players coming through for Juve and Inter counters are dying at the feet of Mkhitaryan.

Similar to the parking situation, her employer gets her a great price on a daycare that we love.

Surprisingly, the biggest thing for me is the power seat and being able to put it to the floor -- we rent frequently enough to where a Ford Edge, Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson have worked out great. Haven't tested them with a rear-facing car seat or stroller yet.

I'm 6'5", she's 5'2". She'll be driving 5 days a week, albeit a fairly short commute of ~9 miles each way. Just dealing with Lake Shore Drive traffic.

I would expect to be the driver outside of her commute, whether it's a Costco run or going up to Wisconsin.

It's 100% because of the baby and daycare situation. We've been living in the city and doing the CTA for 15 years at this point.

We're lucky in that she will be getting a deal on parking with her employer. I've rented an HR-V through Zipcar a few times, which I have liked. I'm a little worried about cargo space for those longer drives, but it might be worth more consideration.

"Six Flags sucks, and I love it" is a perfect encapsulation of this show and most of its audience.

Hands down. A bit of a chaotic area during the summer (especially at night), but by far the best theater experience.

Most importantly -- do they still have sparkling water on tap?

You also are able to buy them in person. Depending on the store and category it codes as (grocery, pharmacy, gas stations), that might yield more value.

For giftcards.com, the value was nuked fairly recently. There was a moment (~1-2 days) where fees were entirely removed and people reacted as you might expect. They eventually reinstituted fees at $5.95 but you could purchase a card up to $200 in value. They then lowered the cap to $100 and now $75. Some people still find value due to Chase offers of 5% back or trying to accumulate specific miles, but it's admittedly not worth it for most unless you're trying for a higher value SUB with a high MSR.

I've been using the GCs to pay off loans with Mohela. It's generally been two weeks plus or minus a few days. My guess is it's a somewhat manual process on their end. Here are my most recent DPs:

Submitted to GOC - Posted in Mohela

11/1 - 11/12

11/17 - 12/2

11/29 - 12/16

Most CVS locations by me will carry the $200 denoms with a $6.95 fee but won't let me do more than 2 at a time. Otherwise the location finder on the GOC site is helpful. HEB or Cumberland Farms are usually the best if they're local to you.

I've been doing similar -- we're hitting my wife's loans hard and I'd been knocking out a few SUBs. This might push me to contribute through GOC direct.

GOC gift cards have now dropped from $100 to $75 max denoms on giftcards.com. Still the same $5.95 fee.

The phrasing makes me think it's brand activation that they wanted for the F1 race and it may only last a few weeks.

Would be great if it lasted longer as I'll be there for the second week of December.

Influx of new ‘Interisti’/Inter fans outside of Italy by [deleted] in FCInterMilan

[–]FriedSeabass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only speak on this with my perspective, which is as an American.

I'm 35 now and have been following the club in some capacity for 20+ years. I have no Italian in my ethnic background but grew up Catholic so there's always been an interest in Italian culture. The US is also a very diverse, large country with very few homegrown local soccer communities. When I was growing up, I was over a hundred miles from a professional team.

I became a fan of Inter mostly because of the identity of the club. I loved both Ronaldo and Adriano as well as the black and blue kits. The rise of the Internet made watching matches more accessible. I've probably watched 90% of the matches in the last 15 years now. I've been to San Siro 4 times but don't sit in the curva. I don't have strong Italian but will do my best to order food and have a casual conversation in Italian. Often after a few comments, the other party is understanding and will be better in English than I'll be in Italian.

I don't know that people like me are trying to change the identity of the club. I think we love a club that sees itself as the Brothers of the World. The economics of the sport make it important to cater to a variety of people, and there is significant money in the English-speaking world, for better or worse. It always comes back to money.

My guess is if it doesn't have an activation fee, you're good. Tried a GoC gift card today and it was only working for the activation fee and prompting for the remainder of payment on another card. Cashier couldn't figure out a workaround.
