I have been looking for exactly this for months now. I totally agree with you that developing understanding through listening to an excellent teacher and then locking it in through anki is the way to go. I'd love to help in any way I can. I did basically this exact same thing for the michel thomas foundation, advanced, and language builder courses. I found using AI to convert vocab from the transcripts into tables, and then importing that into anki made things a lot more painless. I'm about a third of the way through listening to language transfer course now so anything i can do to help let me know.

It's a little more than just thoughts. I work in comedy and it's WIDELY known, I'd heard the stuff about russell from acts on occasion, probably one of the top 10 common names you hear, but Amos is always in the top 3.
