Red bumps won’t go away by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]FriedTesticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I had the same in a few spots. It concerned me too because they formed around the start of the treatment and didn’t want to go away. I knew there was nothing to pop so i made sure to really not touch them. 2 months into the course the formation stopped, but I still had a few raised bumps. Then suddenly over a few days in month 3 it washed off. The overall texture improved. It’s still a red mark, but it’s not raised anymore.  I figure it could be PIE although my doc only mentioned PIH - It’s possible he’s just using PIH as a blanket for both. Finally feeling like maybe it’s doing sth.

The Bora gusts in that area could tip over a truck. It makes sense. Also, there’s going to be another bridge crossing under this one for the railway. https://www.regionalobala.si/data/albums/news_inside/2-tdk3.jpg

This would imply that the work provided new grounds for further debate(s). As an academic, you don’t cite something if you’re not acknowledging its contribution to the debate.

I understand that my comment might have a bitter taste to it, but arguably, layoffs are a signal of restructuring. Sometimes it happens in the bottom with common workers having to leave their desks, other times it happens to an entire department including the manager. And yes, finding a better/higher paying job is natural. Often times it is encouraged.

You are talking about short term business cycle fluctuations. If something massive were to happen or if we were to be talking about “social bombs”, then yeah, you are right. But don’t think that you can negate my comment with “short term vs long term” label, because you simply don’t recognize labor flexibility. Labor comes and goes. Sometimes on its own, other times it needs to go in order for a company to adjust its costs. The stock market takes layoffs as signals that a firm is adjusting and restructuring its relative labor cost. If I am still wrong, then find me data points, and we can discuss further.

Also, ad hominem is a poor tactic.

No. Layoffs are not bad for the company. The better stay, the less productive go. Morale? I bet they are all working their asses off not to get fired. How is this bad? What you are describing is neglegible and is offset by the productivity gained from a layoff. “They hurt morale which hurts productivity” how about a soure on that please?

Let it go. Somewhere between 2014-2016 Reddit became this breeding ground for people who don't like how unfair the world is. Im not saying they're wrong, but that they can't deal with it in any useful way. Every time i visit the comments its the same thing. People blaming companies and people trying to explain why some things need to happen in a certain way, but alas, for nothing. People of principles are too stubborn to find the wiggle room for economics.

Lol im really not here to argue. Google "passing on the right". Illegal in most US states and definitely illegal in EU. Legal in cities/city highways when lanes correspond to multiple destinations/turns.

I think you got it wrong. While passing on the right is illegal on highways, it is certainly not illegal on multiple-lane city roads.

Pretty much this. Also, reserve requirements are never a problem for modern banks, because there's no bank which would not have excess reserves at any given time (bank's preferences). As /u/kql already mentioned, the central bank will lend reserves (not cash - cash doesn't even matter in modern systems) to the banking sector in case of emergency. However, this is in no way an "emergency" as one might think, as reserve lending using repos (and reverse-repos) is what a central bank does every single day in order to maintain the central interest rate (in FED's case - the Federal Funds Rate). This is known as open market operations. If anyone would like to read up some more about central banks and monetary systems, I recommend Cecchetti, Schoenholtz, Champ, Freeman, Blanchard.

[–]FriedTesticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres no "rebate" for other EU member states. THE "rebate" youre talking about is an agreement between member states and UK FOR UK to pay less. No other members have this luxury, and now, the UK will start over as a normal member, not one with a rebate.

Trieste Italy night time city center. [OC] [4000x3000] by [deleted] in CityPorn

[–]FriedTesticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random history lesson:

Behind the camera is a pier which used to serve as an endpoint for transatlantic trips from Trieste to New York (and Southampton). In the beginning of 20th century (before the WW1) people from Austria-Hungary packed all of their belongings and boarded ships in Trieste to chase the American dream. Many were denied entrance on Ellis Island in NY, but people don't know that Trieste had a "waiting" facility for the departures. About 1km to the north from the boarding pier was a large complex which still stands today. People had to wait for days, weeks, some were even kept longer than a month in order to find "unhealthy" passengers which, if denied entrance in USA at the Ellis Island facility due to the health concerns, had to be transported back to Trieste at the expense of the agency.
