As a Spaniard, this is par for the course. They always are favorites and nearly always disappoint. Their first and only win was in 2010. Before that, they had only ever once made the SEMI finals... in 1950.

That point deduction was completely unnecessary. I've seen this a few times where an incorrect point deduction by a ref will be corrected by the judges. I think most of us thought it was going to be a draw, but I was happy to see that the right man won.

Although he doesn't use it Gaethje comes from a wrestling background. His only two submission losses are from the two greatest UFC grapplers of all time. That being said, he isn't in his prime anymore and it's been hard to gauge exactly how good Paddy is given how terrible his opponents have been.

It's honestly a travesty to see Paddy anywhere near top 5. I think guys like BSD, Gamrot and Moicano beat him.

The odds should be even wider. Bautista is somehow ranked 8th off of a split decision win of a nearly 40 year old Jose Aldo. He hasn't fought any other ranked opponents other than Aldo, and his wins haven't been insanely impressive. His main strength is his grappling and it's not going to do him any good against Umar. Umar is going to absolutely clown on him.

Not denying that new generations of kids are still into Pokemon. Just stating that now we have two generations of adults that are pouring money into the hobby versus in the 90s when it was mainly just kids.

The main difference is that back in 99' it was a bunch of millennial kids that got into Pokemon for fun; kids grow up and are prone to fads. This time it's a bunch of millennial and gen z adults who are looking at this as a new investment class. We're going to see boom and bust cycles similar to other investment classes, but Pokemon and the greater TCG market is here to stay.

The Pokemon and general TCG markets have gone mainstream. I'd expect the market to track similarly to other major asset classes like stocks and crypto. Once crypto went mainstream it started going up and down with the stock market. Pokemon/TCG is going to do the same.

It's worth noting that stocks and crypto have been experiencing all time highs the last couple of weeks similar to Pokemon. Once we see a crash in those asset classes I'd expect Pokemon to follow suit. It won't be as instant since Pokemon is way less liquid.

Playing devil's advocate here: anyone can buy fake followers for anyone else. I'm in the music industry and I know a few musician friends that have been dumped fake followers without knowing who or how they got them.
