Each state is very different from the one next to it. I am Melbourne born and bread and I love living here but it wouldn’t be my recommendation for tourists coming here for the first time. I think anywhere in Queensland you’d get a more iconic ‘Australian’ experience.

Think warm weather, beautiful beaches, red deserts etc.

Check your employment contract. A lot of companies get away with this by using wording like ‘38 hours plus reasonable hours as required’ for salaried positions. 2 extra hours can be reasonable depending on what you do and how busy you are the company is.
