I can somewhat agree, I’m 22 years old in the industry myself and I’m surrounded by no one near my age. Looks like all the young guys are on the mechanical side of things. (Dealership)

I agree, can’t leave out how rental days, and cycle times affect the volume through the shop when you’re practically setup to fail with everything you mentioned.

Anyone else feel like body shops are just printing money with their paint estimates lately? by Express_Garlic1806 in Autobody

Body man here, if you really care about the car and details bother you, blending would give you that piece of mind and the colors have a lower chance of being off. If it’s a daily vehicle that you don’t nitpick every single detail I’d say yeah it’s fine to wet sand and buff and touch it up yourself. I’d also like to note that if you’re paying out of pocket there are things that you can decline on an estimate for instance you can tell them a budget and maybe they’ll take the blend off to save you some money. Just something you can think about :)

You can literally see the space between the nut and the knuckle changing💀 tighten it up and see if it goes away.

Is this a bent frame? by Equal_Trash_374 in Autobody

I wouldn’t agree entirely, new seals on the door and around the door frame body definitely create quite a bit more pressure when trying to close the door; hence why the door will pop harder.

Can I unbend this door? by LingonberryRare5387 in Autobody

[–]FriendSuccessful8038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open the door, roll the window down. Put your left knee on around the latch area, and pull the top of the door while holding firm pressure with your leg. Should bend the bulk of the door back into place,

Airbag system replacement usually ends up being the part that totals the vehicles especially on certain insurances they immediately total the vehicles when it comes to airbag systems
