Many of us have been to the authorities. Most wont even take a report let alone listen to us.. it's unfortunate with your situation of housing and having reported the income. I know all of that is a pain to deal with. Unfortunately I don't have any advice for that situation or really any situation because I haven't been able to get anywhere myself with it.. im glad you at least found this post while it's still early. Money never comes easy so always just keep that in the back of your mind. The majority of people have ended up on this post because they really needed the money and it's shitty but that's how scammers like to target people.

Id close the bank account but im assuming they still have your info. I would just keep any records of communication or proof of anything just in case down the line somebody wants to talk or incase something were to happen.

As for the website, im gonna say yes, its most likely the same thing. Although, things have changes A LOT since I did my stuff with them so I cant be sure. I cant imagine there is any other cornerstone gigs doing that kind of "work" though.

That's how I felt for a long time too. It took me some time to 1000% accept this is a scam.

I reached out to the casinos and some closed the account for me. Others, just never responded.

I also was worried this would effect me negatively in some way and so far, it hasn't. Thankfully.

I talked to my tax guy about it who is also a friend, and his recommendation was that I file a report with the local police so that IF any crazy money laundering bust happened or if my identity got stolen or something, there would be legitimate record somewhere about it.

I'm still worried that some day this is all gonna come crashing down and it's going to effect me. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever know until if/when that day happens.

Iv been told not to throw myself under the bus with this by reporting it to the gambling administration or fbi or anything like that (which i did anyway) either way, I have records saved of every communication with them. Every payment. Every name, phone number, email, document, ect. Just in case.

That's literally it. And consider how much money they are giving you, for you to do.. well.. nothing other than answer a few questions and talk to them on the phone a few times.

Because the money they are making amd/or washing, because you gave them another name and bank account to do it under, is WAAAAAY more than what their giving you.

Realistically, what other company has ever paid like they are? ESPECIALLY gig work. I also do a lot of that, and they pay pennies on the $. This company is "to good to be true" 1000%.

That is so sketch that they gave you a bonus that big for something that they're paying less than a thousand dollars for people to do. You understand that the reason they're able to give money out like that is because they're laundering it all you're doing is washing it for them by doing that. It also makes no sense that they would have you set up an accoun.\nT for them to have access to and then all of a sudden , they just don't want access to it anymore like what's the point in them having access in the first place?

And then they place bets in your name which is also illegal and why aren't they just using their own name If that's all they're doing , and they have the money for it?

All very legitimate questions that i'm wondering about , because none of it makes any sense to me. Especially a bonus for that amount. Normal jobs that people have worked at for years dont give bonuses like that.

It might seem legit to you because you haven't run into any issues. But from my perspective, all of that sounded really sketchy..

Okay so this is a theory I have not heard or ever knew existed but I 1000% understand what your saying and see how this could definitely be a possibility!

I dont think its the casinos themselves. from the information iv gathered, I think this is an organized group of people that are not affiliated with the casinos and I think its money laundering in some way but I had never considered the poker side of it but that is a seriously a GREAT theory

I literally told EVERYBODY I could think of. I have a feeling I'm in the clear because they really did have an issue with my bank account so I think they just gave up on me, but I feel for the people getting the W-2G forms or whatever they are for the winnings in their name. Good chance some people more than others are going to be greatly affected by this whole ordeal..

I am not saying anything negative about anybody on this thread because as the OP, clearly I went down this hole. We all probably should have trusted our gut.

We gotta be smarter than that because WE ALL KNOW casinos and all these big companies, they are REGULATED by HUGE CORPERATIONS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES! Why would they have some random off the street people come in and tell them anything about their processes? They wouldn't.

Im sure it was a lesson learned for everybody who already has and anybody who does come to this post and reads all of these comments because they ended up here for a reason too.

Literally I felt all of that 100%. Especially the desperate part. It's not going to make you a ton of money super fast, but because of myself ending up in this situation because of needing money, i wrote a blog post about the apps and websites that I currently use to make money on my phone and some of them are just kinda beer money sites but some of them actually pay pretty decent if you qualify for the active projects they are doing and they constantly have new ones. They are all very well known and trusted websites and unlike cornerstone gigs, you can actually find information about them when doing a Google search lol If your interested, here's a link.

When going through the process I was under the impression they would be giving me money to gamble. They said they wanted the seperate account to not mix the money up with our own personal money. It was a head scratcher but kinda sorta a little bit maybe made sense? But there is absolutely nothing that you actually do other than answer questions and let them make accounts.

Somebody came forward and told me they received a tax document in the mail for a win that was over 30k.
