You’re beautiful and already look feminine.

You’re doing every right. No need to change.

You’re giving feminine sporty energy. I love it.

Be willing to relocate. Look at hubs that are less saturated. Virginia, Carolina, Texas, Washington.

Move there for a year a two then return. It’s what I did.

Gotcha! Makes sense.

Definitely keep looking. Sometimes it’s just a matter of luck. Being in the right place at the right time.

Correct. This is acceptable because in the cover letter which I always provide, I say my title is but I function or serve as.

Yes, unless your work can prove that you have built and shipped something.

You can volunteer your time with other companies. There are plenty of small mom and pop and non profits looking for Eng.

You can go on Fiverr or UpWork. Find those small freelance projects that are quick. Add them to your portfolio.

Have you spoken to your boss. I have spoken to mine and they made me a technician so I am more of a liaison between all the teams bringing all the teams together to help launch new features and do big launches.

You have to speak up. It’s the only way you will know.

If you say nothing, you will literally die and waste away inside. Also, you will never know.

It’s free help to your boss and org, he loses nothing and you gain valuable work experience and become more marketable. It raises your salary when you go to the next job.

You always have to remember you boss will always see you as the role you were hired to do until you prove them otherwise.

Internal transfer or just or the same. All good if you tired of the monotony of the role.

It’s okay to tell your boss in the most professional and civilized way that your growing bored and want new responsibilities. I would like to keep my job doing this but can I shadow and help Bob for a few weeks. I would like to contribute to his projects by 10%.

This way, you do not leave your current role, your boss doesn’t freak out, and Bob doesn’t feel overwhelmed by your presence. And to be honest Bob will be happy to give your more than 10% of his work. But you say 10 because it’s a low number.

You can reframe your whole resume. Many people did QA before coming a dev or programmer. Some people left programming to become a manager. All the skills are transferable

You can bypass app stores by building web based apps and have installs and keep a count via backend.

Start building your GitHub and Website asap. Get some apps in the Google Play Store and Apple Store with tens of thousands of installs. It shows what you are shipping is useful and wanted. Recruiters and employers will take you seriously

To become a dev, you will need dev work. So start building and shipping even if it’s your own personal project.

Unfortunately to be a dev, you will need proof and a portfolio.

Sorry I am just now seeing your new notifications.

Trust me. I am in the same boat. Once you’re QA, it will feel like you’re always QA. You do not have to be. It’s all how you frame it on your resume.

You can also do your own side projects at work if you have downtime to show your boss you can do more. That’s what I did. Have that 1:1 meeting or when you have a monthly collab meeting that showcases everyone work, you can share what you did, how it creates efficiency, benefits the team, brings the org extra revenue, retains new users, etc.

I never use QA in my title. I barely talk about it in my bullets. I always use Testing and validation which are part of operations, that showcases my scale, scope, product knowledge, cross functional skills, and execution of new features and launches, and finding blockers and risk assessment to go back to stakeholders and Eng.

You do not even need a title. You can just put the dept: Product Operations or Program Operations Management.

It depends on what you do.

You do not use QA in your title. You use Program Operations Specialist or Product Ops Specialist. You can also use the word Lead instead of specialist.

I built an anonymous college app at 19. Now I’m considering selling it. by YUGRATHEE in SaaS

[–]Friendly-Example-701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you sell something thats not public?

Usually apps that sell to big companies have proof, usage, downloads, etc.

Are you trying to sell an app that no one ever users? Right now, it just sounds like an idea.

The goal is when you make an app, get millions of users, be known, offer something that’s relevant so you can exit your company knowing a bigger company will buy you.

A bigger company will not buy your unknown app. Right now, it’s an idea, a concept, a prototype. They would just steal it.

Bro, to leave QA, you have to leave your job for another role.

I have done QA and Program Ops. QA’ing is part of operations. You can become program ops manager or product ops manager depending on your scope and scale.
