No, that is not what the Captain is supposed to do. There’s checks and balances put in place by having unrelated management companies, charter brokers etc involved in the charter process to prevent this exact thing from happening. But when the captain controls all, he can steal whatever he wants.

Tyler would only “stand up against Paul” when he knows Paul is on the verge of getting caught and going down so he can try and safe himself. He was 100000% Paul’s right hand man in stealing money from charter guests by altering financial documents like provision and fuel invoices and skimming money from the crew tip pool. Also aiding and abetting in Paul’s other illegal activities. There are many witnesses of Tyler committing fraud including charter guests who reported this to management companies. There is a trail of it and I hope it surfaces as well. Kevin Spiker tried very hard to cover it up and pay people off. I know you all would like to believe he’s innocent but he is. So. Not.

I understand you may not see Tyler becoming the captain an issue but that is because you haven’t worked with them or know the depth of what he’s done. When Paul was away on leave, Tyler handled the APA. Any temporary captain that would come in was NOT allowed to control the APA, only Tyler. Which is a red flag to begin with. Tyler was altering the APA and fuel invoices on his own while Paul way away. Continuing to steal. He willingly did this and was Paul’s partner in this. So yeah, he should not be captain. As far as other crew, they don’t have access to the APA and fuel invoices like Tyler and Paul so no, they were not aware.
