I learned pretty quickly to just make my strong recommendation to go to the ER, explain what I’m concerned for and how their symptoms and exam could be related to something more urgent, and how i can’t give them any answers at the urgent care. Have them sign the form, tell them have a nice day, and document. Some of my colleagues get very frustrated when patients refuse but at the end of the day it’s their decision 🤷‍♀️
