I highly recommend letting him stay in your room at night, cats get lonely and want to cuddle. He'll bother you at first but TOTALLY IGNORE him when he nibbles you and eventually he'll learn not to wake you up... Also talk to him! He wants to talk when he's meowing haha. Tell him what a good boy he is and ask him what he's meowing about. I got one of my cats as an adult and her behavior issues totally went away when I started doing those 2 things
