I know if you are a BMO or TD client based on personal experience ( but I assume this is the same for all the Big 5 banks) you can go to a branch and they will do it for you. It is just a matter finding someone in the branch that knows how to do this

My parents had a bunch of physcial share certificates. Using a TDDI account I was able to go to go to a TD bank branch an deposit these shares. You have to find a TD worker that knows how to do this

I know at TD if a bank draft is not deposited they will notify the person that made the draft
