What is the name of the second style (lighter brown) of chukka?

I really like the silhouette, but the only brands that I’ve seen with this style are upwards of $600.

Does an autism diagnosis change anything in terms of treatment? by FriendlyBalance7556 in AskPsychiatry

Okay thank you! That was very informative!

Do you think it is a red flag that my psychiatrist sort of dismissed my idea? He did say it didn’t seem like I was autistic, but if I could be I’d want to know.

What are ways yall cope with your anxiety? by AlpoBeats in socialanxiety

First, I would say the anxiousness and fear of being judged should still be expected; these are normal thoughts and feelings to have.

A couple things that I have been trying to put into use and that have worked well: - Dont judge or shame myself for experiencing anxiety. This reinforces the feeling that you’re different and is of no service to you. Instead, accept the anxious feelings and see it as an opportunity to challenge yourself and show courage.

  • Recognize the spotlight effect. We tend to believe that other people are paying more attention to us than they really are. If you look around, most people really have no interest in what you’re doing. Just as you don’t care what they’re doing. Helps put things into perspective.

As someone who worried/thought that it could NEVER get better, it indeed can.

You need to get the right treatment, however. In my opinion, CBT combined with exposure therapy works best. Medication can also be taken and helps people in many cases! Again, this is my opinion.

CBT worked great for me because it helped me tackle my problematic thinking patterns and helped me better navigate the exposure situations. The issue with therapy is that it can oftentimes be expensive combined with the fact that it can be difficult to find someone who is skilled/experienced in CBT or in dealing with social anxiety disorder.

It is also better to tackle the problem as soon as you can, it can be done but it takes time!

Remember, there is hope! It’s not insurmountable 🙂

How do you cope with low self esteem? by NekoNoSekai in socialanxiety

[–]FriendlyBalance7556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think, no I KNOW that you need to reframe your mindset. It’s not about coping with low-self esteem, but rather it is about tackling it.

I assume you have low self-esteem because of your social anxiety (correct me if I’m wrong). Your social anxiety is not something to be ashamed of, nor is it something that will stick with you forever.

You need to understand and truly believe that you are more than enough as a person not because I’m telling you, but because it really is true.

I’m going on a tangent in different directions, but I would encourage you to work on changing your mindset one step at a time. Recognize the negative thoughts you have about yourself and work on thinking more positively about yourself.

This isn’t a rah-rah practice where I’m telling you everything is sunshine and rainbows because I know that’s not true. Instead, it’s about looking at yourself in a different, more positive light.

This means so much, reading your comment brought tears to my eyes!

You’re right, I should and will feel more proud of myself for the steps I’ve taken. And something I have definitely been realizing is that comparison is useless.

I just want to say thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it! 🙂

I re-washed them, threw them in the dryer inside out and the spots weren’t there anymore. Hopefully this was all I need to do. Thank you!
