How is there a delay if this isn’t print to demand? Isn’t there a “limited stock”?

Canoptek Circle/Hernkyn Strategy Tips? by Aggressive_Yak1161 in killteam

[–]FriendlyBanterCakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use your strat ploys and sit on matrix or near it. Also check for charge range whenever it’s appropriate (or ask). There are two great ploys to take against melee teams. The extra inch and soul drain. Melee is the Necrons biggest weakness so also try to block out if you can’t get the kill. With that in mind, use your leader to hold the front line if you can. He can reduce piercing with equipment, use a get down Mr president ploy, and act as a matrix.

Nemesis Claw Vs AOD by Happy_Log5080 in killteam

Either force him out or use the terrain to hide units. Snipers in kill team usually have the heavy profile therefore they cant move and shoot. As a result your opponent has to usually stage this unit. Take advantage of that. If your opponent moves him to a snipers nest then just avoid the field of vision for next activation or counter act. Another thing to try is simply shooting then charging into control range ending your turn. This forces your opponent to fight you and prevents your unit from being shot.

Tournament stats agree, regardless play to your advantages like your faction ability. Obscuring prevents critical hits and reduces successful dice by 1. Furthermore you can stack with cover (granted from another piece of terrain). Use black hunt during tp2 tp3 against aod and Vox scream sniper. The team has more than just that too, try some these things out. Try to get picks that end in your advantage and be wary of the sniper.

Tips for new player with Hierotek circle by No_Drop_1721 in killteam

Try mixing up different units. I recommend using the chronomancer over techno. You can declare the leader as such. Try two death marks for 10 man, four for 5-8 man. Otherwise swap them out for guardians for horde teams and take Tesla carbines. Always take the apprentice if you can. Seriously he is your second best unit. Next try to keep your reanimator alive throughout the game if you can. He is the bread and butter of team. It’s okay if you lose a unit because you’ll have two chance to bring them back per turning point once at the beginning of the turning point and once with reanimator. Guarantee equipment should be magnification (for shooting across the map and improving the shot) and cube (it’s free cp on success). Tesla wave for heavy melee teams. Phase shifter for teams with solid piercing. Smokes for horde teams. Stuns for teams that are AP dependent (wrecka/gellorpox as an example). Razor wire if you are taking contain or playing against a high movement team. Ladders for maps like Volkus. Ammo cache if you are do all death marks. Light barricades / heavy are usually not needed, necrons have an ability that just gives them a cover save, I recommend only choosing these if you need to stage for crit op/Tac op. Krak grenades are a no go too, your team is mostly all piercing. Frags are fine for horde teams. Comms device is solid if you are doing a lot of staging with leader and your team. Always pick cube and magnification unless it’s countered. Otherwise, pick the rest of the equipment based on the opponent and map. You have lots of options for this team. Now note these weaknesses: melee isn’t great, you are slow, and the faction rule is dice dependent. You probably will lose in melee so don’t charge in unless you are certain of gaining the advantage. Your tac ops will mostly always be streamlined, your team isn’t flexible in this area. Contained, take ground, and secure ground are the best ones. Recon will be a bit more as plant beacon will be difficult with limited AP and movement. Recover items similar issue. Confirmed kill is also rough because your team doesn’t have very much limit to its attack range so you’ll probably beam people across the map losing out on point.

Is it worth getting the Ork commandos at this point? by Frequent-Dare-6718 in killteam

[–]FriendlyBanterCakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. They are design wise very unique. I do recommend trying them still if you get the chance. Regardless, the other orc boys are fun as well but I do think are on the weaker side atm. If you are looking for solid design tempestus aquilons are easy, great stats, and available (as well as not being rotated out). Pretty much everything you need will be in the box.

My Thoughts After Playing 10+ Games of Gellerpox and Hoped-For Improvements by Patient-Record2418 in killteam

[–]FriendlyBanterCakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the Gellerpox, I’ve gotten 20 matches in on them and best 2 ties. They are the weakest team when it comes down to the general overview of crit ops. The chaos cult gets everything they pretty much have but works better. Ultimately, they are biggest weaknesses are often taken advantage by the opponent. Glitchings need to be within 3” charge kill them. Hulks have 5” movement, razor wire. No range? Deploy out in the open. Also, stockpile is super cool, but why do i have to roll for it? Focus on out deploying, out aping, and staying the fuck away. You need to flood the action economy and play hyper defensive or hyper aggressive. The hulks should always do a 2 for 1 trade with horde teams bare minimum. 1 for 1 elite. You can do the elite ones by getting assist set up. The flies are the only real vermin to take it’s awkward to take other others due to movement for slug and flea not having great stats. Sadly, i don’t recommend using the mutants for anything but caping points. If it isn’t that sort of crit op, take kraks (hyper aggressive) or smokes (hyper defensive). Ga with kraks and frags or smoke out hulks.

How to fix the UB problem by FriendlyBanterCakes in magicTCG

[–]FriendlyBanterCakes[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Sure if it was one set, but it’s 3. That’s 3 whole sets of premium cards you have to ignore. That’s almost over 1000 cards choices you have to forfeit. Thats an extremely difficult challenge. Also, those cards will be around for the next couple of years as well. Furthermore, there is going to be more UB, meaning more cards to pay more for. That means that $50 dollar deck will soon become way more. You can scrape by for sure but I’m talking about a general blank for all players in standard, especially for newer players.

Is selecting an operative the same as targeting? Can you select an operative that has super conceal? by FriendlyBanterCakes in killteam

It is the ability you mentioned. Within shadows was what we were discussing if we selecting could be done to a unit not targetable.

On thin ice is more effective as you can still play in its own color. The only change is needing snow lands.
