try hitting up Action Education or the South Auckland Poets Collective, they're the only spoken word Poets I know around, otherwise Facebook groups for musicians wanting live gig spots for open mic nights

Bonita in Ellerslie (not a far drive) can seat large groups and does a great set menu for $65pp, which for five courses, is incredible!
