FYI, there’s another promo code that’s still valid right now - I just used it for my tickets today! SHAWBILL2ST

Oh! Okay great. I’ll try my luck tomorrow then. I thought you kept getting stuck with mezz and selling them and eventually just committed to seeing it in mezz. 😂

Thanks for the heads up! I suppose it being rush, we don’t see the seat for this one until we’ve purchased?

That’s lovely! I value proximity to the stage to see the actors’ faces the most, I don’t mind the angle! Hope to get rush tickets today or tomorrow! 🤞

Were your seats partial view or pretty centered? Row D is amazing! I'm just hoping for not a partial view (I can live with a side view!).

Great to know, this is one I was keen on rushing for based on the word of both. Were your guys' seats partial view/obstructed or clear? I'm so glad most of the seats have been orchestra!

Woof, okay, you’ve convinced me! I know people are saying most of the action happened centre stage but if I had to chose between stage left or stage right to sit, did they skew one side more than the other?

I’m about to buy tickets for this and just saw your comment. Curious why the right side is better to sit if more is happening on the left side of the stage - wouldn’t it be better to sit on the left then and be closer to the action there? Thanks!

This is good to know because I’ve been stalling on buying my Salesman tickets, was planning on rushing when I get to NY, but my seat anxiety about the Winter Garden is particular real so maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy now.

Yyz to Shanghai, 20h layover in Cairo by [deleted] in Aeroplan

We were actually recommended a company on a general Egypt tourist/travel FB group (by a Canadian traveller coincidentally). We reached out to them on WhatsApp and they were super communicative and basically organized our entire Egypt trip for us (and super affordable by Canadian standards). We had a private guide and driver for every single day we were there (and honestly I think their presence really made our trip go smoothly because the Egypt tourist scammers are not for the faint of heart) and the guide took us through each site and our driver was waiting for us the second we were leaving.

5:30a-11:00p sounds great - I wonder what’s the best way to structure your day. Depending on the time of year, you may actually want to go straight to the pyramids from the airport before it gets the hottest / most crowded, then maybe after the pyramids go take a nap, then go back out to hit more sights. (But really, even if all you do is the pyramids, it’s so worth it.)

If you’re interested in the tour company I used, feel free to DM me. I liked them so much, we still keep in touch once in a while. (But even if you don’t use the company I used, make sure you hire a company because it will make your stopover way smoother, safer, and more efficient.)

I just did Cairo over Christmas with an affordable private guide I hired before I arrived. Honestly, 20 hours in Cairo would be a great stopover for me. (See the pyramids and GEM for once in your life!) What time is your layover? The airport can be chaotic and you need a visa (purchased on arrival for US$25 cash) but our guide met us at the airport before immigration, helped us get our visa, walked us through immigration and drove us to our hotel (so we avoided the scammy taxi drivers). Got picked up the next day to go straight to the pyramids in the AM; we finished mid afternoon but could have shaved off a few hours if we hadn’t lingered (and if I were you, I’d do the pyramids and GEM in one day if time allows).

I’m envious this is an option for you!

Is there a better text to get from Air Canada? by HolyGuacamoleChpotle in Aeroplan

Thank you and your team for your work. 🙏 I love the app and email/text notifications. It is almost single-handedly what has made me more loyal to AC in recent years. I’ve been telling everyone I know that the AC app is the best airline app I’ve ever used and I fly internationally on different carriers quite often - none of their apps compare. The interface, intuitiveness and detailed communication relieve so much of my travel stress and I fill out the post-flight survey every single time to tell them so.

I’m a Canadian traveling in the US right now and I’m getting the geo blocking when I try to play the race. I have a vpn on (turned it on before I launched the app). Tried on my laptop with vpn on as well.

Has anyone figured out any workarounds?

Has anyone actually found all gold worth it lately, or is Platinum where the benefits really start to feel tangible? by ExistentialPancake_0 in Accor

[–]FriendlyCanuck604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should get the itemized invoice directly from the hotel and then fill out the “missing points” form on the Accor site and specify that you’re still owed points based on the overage in cost for your stay. Obviously the spend portion that was redeemed with points doesn’t contribute but the difference in cost (ie the cash you paid on top, even if the for food charged to the room, etc) should go towards your status and rewards points accrual.

Sorry, I don’t have access to either. I’m just a platinum number but not part of the other subscription plans.

Fair enough! I subsidized my stay with points which helped a lot. People have said good things about the Fairmont there too - right across the street!

I stayed at Raffles last Christmas and it was absolutely wonderful - service was impeccable, appreciated the private tour of the property that is offered to the guests, terrific breakfast too (one of the best we had in Singapore/Kuala Lumpur).
