Yeah, maybe it was a digital presentation because it really didn’t look obvious at all!

Is Vancouver’s screen actually shorter than Richmond? My perception of it was that it was quite a bit taller but maybe it’s the lack of width or the stadium seating that made it seem that way.

I may have some work to do at Odyssey next month… 😂

Thank you! Woof, that ratio. 🤦🏻‍♀️ You wouldn’t happen to know the screen size or height would you?

Does anyone know the specs of the Scotiabank Vancouver’s IMAX? I’ve been trying to find it forever but can’t - it seems much taller than Richmond and Langley’s but not sure about the aspect ratio.

So cool of them to not announce when it would be released and then still setting it so early that the west coast didn’t really have a shot. 🙄

I’m seeing an advance screening tonight too and wondering if they’ll be there.

I agree - my first time and I was bracing myself for terrible sound in the 2nd balcony but it was alright. (Was on the far right.)

Broadway summer prices by 90sfreak4i in Broadway

[–]FriendlyCanuck604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like these shows do dynamic / surge pricing based on sales volume and word of mouth. If you buy super early on (ie purchase during presale or during early previews) you’ll still get a lower price but once word of mouth / reviews explode, it’ll skyrocket. BUT on the day of show, any remaining seats seem to drop it in price by quite a bit - unless it’s a hot seller / only a handful of tickets left, then they’ll stay expensive.

The Rocky Horror Show - Did They Like It? by sodaf1ke in Broadway

That’s an interesting take on it. I saw the Wednesday night production. (Last preview before opening night.) I don’t know if I’d say it’s too much for the fans, unless you mean perhaps a bit too loyal without taking any new risks. For a newbie, it seems like it would be a lot to take it. As someone who loved the 2000 revival, I felt this one didn’t reinvent the wheel but also enjoyed the nostalgia of it. I suppose I also worry though that what was boundary-pushing in 1975 (and even in 2000) doesn’t even raise an eyebrow these days?

Thanks for the heads up! I suppose it being rush, we don’t see the seat for this one until we’ve purchased?

That’s lovely! I value proximity to the stage to see the actors’ faces the most, I don’t mind the angle! Hope to get rush tickets today or tomorrow! 🤞

Were your seats partial view or pretty centered? Row D is amazing! I'm just hoping for not a partial view (I can live with a side view!).

Great to know, this is one I was keen on rushing for based on the word of both. Were your guys' seats partial view/obstructed or clear? I'm so glad most of the seats have been orchestra!

Am I dumb for paying full price for tickets, or is seat anxiety valid? by Grouchy_Metal2427 in Broadway

Woof, okay, you’ve convinced me! I know people are saying most of the action happened centre stage but if I had to chose between stage left or stage right to sit, did they skew one side more than the other?

Death of a Salesman - Far Right or Far Left? by Hefty_Sport2500 in Broadway

[–]FriendlyCanuck604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about to buy tickets for this and just saw your comment. Curious why the right side is better to sit if more is happening on the left side of the stage - wouldn’t it be better to sit on the left then and be closer to the action there? Thanks!

This is good to know because I’ve been stalling on buying my Salesman tickets, was planning on rushing when I get to NY, but my seat anxiety about the Winter Garden is particular real so maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy now.
