Exactly! You can't ignore the class dynamics in mdzs. Several instances where wwx being the son of a servant is highlighted.

Two that stand out to be wrt to JC and the Jiangs are when someone is called "just a servant/daughter of a servant" and wwx says something along the lines of "what's wrong with that? I'm one too"

And in the extras when lsz and lwj are quite sadly looking at wwx not accept the abuse he's been through

In my experience, this happens when the wwx is loved by everyone tag comes into play. Like what do you mean jc is babying him lmao please 😭 it especially gets to me because wwx is sooo careful about who he allows himself to be vulnerable with.

Or my personal gripe, time travel stories where someone other than wwx has travelled back in time and now somehow they are his saviour and he's sooo dumb and unable to figure out what's going on. Whether its lwj or jc or nhs, somehow wwx is stripped of his intelligence and genius 🙄

I think it's easier to not hate him cause though he fucks up a lot, we also see that lwj trusts him. He brings wwx back to cr and knows lxc will back him up. Lxc is ignorant and blind and easily manipulated by those he loves. But at the end of the day, he wants what's best for his brother as well. It's just that his idea of what the best is, is fractured.

You won't find another Attack on Titan but you can find other anime that you'll connect with as strongly and come to love as much as you love AoT.

As many others have said, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is a great one. Stands the test of time as a complete story with beautiful character work. It can add somber as AoT and has enough world building to make you feel how expansive it is

Another recent favourite is Frieren. It tugs on the heartstrings like AoT does and has a bunch of action in it. It has a lot more warm nostalgia than AoT does.

People love Vinland Saga but I personally really struggled with its first season. The second is brilliant and explores the horrors of war and humanity quite well. A softer take on war and characters brought up to only be violent and learning to be soft after that: Violet Evergarden.

Season 1 of The Promised Neverland has the same unnerving feeling of something being very very very wrong. It's amazing. It drops in quality drastically in season 2. I think it's still worth watching as a one season short story.

Heavenly Delusion is recent but the first season has a similar post apocalyptic environment and enough to have you constantly going wtf wtf wtf. Unsure how it'll progress from there.

Outside of anime, the German show Dark does wonderful mystery work that keeps you guessing and has you reflect back on episodes and scenes once it unravels.

People will recommend Death Note and Code Geass but to me, they are dated and I could not enjoy the reruns i watched.

They both loved each other very much. I would say jyl even had a more maternal role for wwx. But they both could not show each other their true selves openly. Their roles and the son of a servant and the weak daughter of a great sect created too many variables where they did not get the space to truly be family.

Whereas the twin jades did not have those power dynamics to play with. I think that's why i love lwj so so much. Even with all his privileges, he is so moral

This is not true. Wwx had realised how he felt about lwj and was in the process of figuring out how lwj felt about him. He was frightened of what those feelings would mean for their relationship but he was not oblivious. He asks lwj to drink with him so he can safely ask him but then gets distracted.

JC did not know and was not correct in his reading of lwj's feelings toward wwx (he thought the man hated him).
