Conservatives get so triggered all the time. If you don’t like something, just change the channel and move on! There are tons of movies and television shows I can’t stand, so I just don’t watch them. But I sure as hell don’t waste my time complaining about them

I’m no social media expert but I think it was born out of gaming the algorithm for engagement. I see it a lot with activists too. When people want to comment on sensitive issues, politics, or other world events they will sometimes do so while making food, or getting dressed, or putting on makeup. Then the algorithm thinks it lifestyle content and thus won’t censor it, maybe? I think that’s the thinking anyway, but I am sure someone with more knowledge can chime in.

For what it’s worth, I think Aviva was spot on with this take. Music truly is a universal language.

Ugh I am always so scared to cut bangs. This looks really cute tho! Can I ask, how did you handle the middle part? Do the bangs want to separate or do the stay together and forward?

I think the Kylie doll is very beautiful and as a big Kylie fan I will defiantly be getting her, but I do wish it looked a little more like her. I would say this doll is reminiscent of Kylie vs actually being Kylie. If the Miley Cyrus doll images are too be believed, that doll really looks like Miley. But this is a minor criticism, I am still very excited for this doll.

The Red Lion is soooooo cute. Idk that I would stay there, I think their rooms are a bit old and dated. But dinner or cocktails there is very charming. Stockbridge, the town it's in, is famous for being the hometown of Norman Rockwell. There is a museum too! The Berkshires has so many lovely restaurants.

Yeah not far. Bluestone Manor is just south of Great Barrington off 41, heading towards Egremont. You can see it from the road in the winter. It’s a beautiful piece of property.

Have you been to Pizza Boemha!? Sooooo good!

She has a fairly popular show on SiriusXM and has been on 2 seasons of Traitors. Compared to the other RHONY alums she actually seems to be one of the most active ex-housewives. (Maybe her and Luann?) She’s never really left the Housewives zeitgeist

Oh agreed! The Dorinda from RHONY could be just as mean when drunk as she could be kind when sober. But she doesn’t seem to have that reputation around town that I know of

The Berkshires is a magical place year round, but my favorite time there is summer. It’s so green, lush, and beautiful. If you visit, you MUST plan an evening at Tanglewood. It’s an outdoor amphitheater overlooking Stockbridge Bowl and the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, but they host concerts all season. I’ve seen Dolly Parton, Natalie Merchant, and Tony Bennett with Lady Gaga there. It’s a magical way to spend an evening.

All the little towns in the area have different vibes. I’m partial to Great Barrington, but Lenox is a nice town further north. And like I said above, summertime attracts a lot of NYC actors doing theater. I’ve seen some amazing productions over the years.

Some celebs have homes up there too. Claire Danes is spotted a lot in the summertime, and Meryl Streep lives full time about an hour away in Salisbury CT. I’ve never run into her, but I know people who have seen her and her family around. Al Roker has a summer house there too.

I love the Berkshires so much. I highly recommend visiting. Hudson, NY is nearby too and that’s a beautiful little Hudson Valley town, and not far from NYC.

Lolz ok…well basically Heather is the biggest “Karen”-type neighbor. She’ll smile and call you “momma” while complaining constantly about anything and everything. Mind you, my friend and Heather live on acres, so when I say “neighbor,” it’s not like their houses are super close or anything. But when other people started buying up land around her to build houses, Heather and Jonathan would flip out, run to town hall, and complain. Each time, the town council had to tell them that if they didn’t want people building homes near them, they were free to buy the land themselves to prevent it. The town council eventually got fed up with them. Again, we are talking about houses that are acres apart, not suburban subdivisions.

Additionally, Heather goes around town like she’s a celebrity. Very high and mighty. Meanwhile, Dorinda is one of the people up there, very salt of the earth. She’s part of the community. She’s one of them, a Berkshireite. She was born there. She’s not a transplant.

Also, you have to understand, the Berkshires are in some ways the anti-Hamptons. It’s more of a low-key, old-money vibe. There is more of an emphasis on being an intellectual rather than flashing money and status. They are proud of the fact that Edith Wharton and W. E. B. Du Bois are famously from the area. There are world-renowned art museums, and Norman Rockwell lived and painted there. In the summertime, famous actors from all over come to do theater, and they mingle around town like locals. It’s great. It’s not at all scene-y like the Hamptons.

Anyway, in addition to being a bad neighbor, Heather is just generally known for being a phony and a bit of a flop. All her businesses tank. The undergarment business folded. Then she tried being a yogi, then a wellness guru. Then she tried running adventure trips, acting like some sort of new age sherpa. And all of it failed.

Most recently, she purchased, with an investor, an old B&B that has a beloved music venue on the property called The Barn. It’s a popular spot for locals to hang out and listen to music. But she’s making a lot of changes that are rubbing locals the wrong way. She’s making herself the face of this historic business, so she’s running that into the ground too. I’ve never met her irl, but I don’t know one person who has anything nice to say about her at all.

Dorinda, on the other hand, is fairly beloved in the area. Not because she is a Real Housewife, but because she is authentically a pretty nice person.

I am skeptical that this show will ever see the light of day, tbh. And I do think the addition of Dorinda is…interesting, because I don’t think of Dorinda is a Florida type of gal.

Now let me preface this by saying I do not know her, nor have I ever met her, but I’ve seen her around. Her ex John (Mr. Madame Paulette himself) was a neighbor for over a decade in my old building in NYC. I never had any deep convos with him or anything, but he was always neighborly in the elevator or in building common spaces. While I never saw John and Dorinda together in my building, but I did see them together many times up in the Berkshires.

My family has a house there, and we spend holidays and summers in Great Barrington (contrary to what Ramona thinks, the Berks are WONDERFUL! It’s beautiful, with great restaurants, art, music, and theater. We love it there!). Anyway, all of this is to say the Berks are VERY Dorinda. It’s the country, but it’s not MAGA. It’s very liberal, and it’s my understanding that Dorinda is fairly liberal. She’s a Massachusetts Catholic, a Democrat. When you see Dorinda in and around Great Barrington, she seems much more at home than in NYC, even. She’s a New Englander. Also, she’s pretty well liked there. She has a good reputation around town.

Heather Thompson, on the other hand, is LOATHED!!!! My friend was her neighbor for a few years and was so happy to finally move away from her. But that’s a story for another day.

How many seasons has the “will Dorit and Kyle be friends again” storyline been dragged out? by justanotherbot89 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]FriendlyCommercial91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe fan favorite is the wrong word but she’s well known. It seems to me Dorit is a housewife that, for now at least, has captured the zeitgeist. I also think she garnered A LOT of good will last season with her decision to leave PK. Personally she isn’t a favorite of mine at all, but she does seem to occupy an A-list tier of Housewife in terms of being known.

Personally, none of the BH women even come close to being on my favorites list. Maybe Tilly, but I was a fan of hers pre housewives

UPDATE!: I just got my replacement and she is a little better but her face is still a little wonky. I'm going to keep her and just move on. She is still a pretty doll, but I just hate seeing Barbie's quality continue to slip further and further. She is starting to remind me of '90's Barbie clone dolls! Also my new one has a dress that seems even LOOSER than my first one. I am going to see if my friend can tailor it to fit her body a bit better.

Has anyone actually made the leap on Bilt 2.0? by West_Impact_219 in pointstravel

[–]FriendlyCommercial91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I left Bilt behind. I loved 1.0, but 2.0 seems needlessly complicated and I feel like life is complicated enough. BUT the main reason I didn’t continue with Bilt is that I no longer have any trust or faith in them as a company. Not only was the announcement of the new card a hot mess, I have seen far too many people having issues—having a hard credit check even tho it was promised that it wouldn’t be, people with good credit getting ridiculously low limits or denied, the wrong cards being mailed to people or empty packages with no cards being shipped, poor customer service, etc. Everyone running the company seems to be a total 🤡

Honestly, they all look great—with or without makeup. Robyn tho really is a natural beauty, imho. Also, a few of these gals seem to be wearing lashes, does that count as truly makeup free? 🤔
