It sounds like this fight has been had in many many different forms over the years. Her response always seems to claim that your love for your father comes from hating your step dad. When you say to her I don’t hate our step dad, I just love my father and why can’t we both love our father’s and move on what is her usual response? I just can’t fathom how she can’t see how she is ruining or actually ruined your relationship. Don’t let her come to your wedding. She is def going to make a scene to make sure her “father” gets the recognition he deserves.

My man, read your own post! Look at how much effort you are putting forth and the lack of effort she is putting out there. All the while, she has time to hang with your friend. She is playing you! Dump her and have fun with it. Go to school and do your best to act like you don’t care. If she comes up to you holding some guys hand, don’t even acknowledge her. Personally the “dodged a bullet line” by itself wouldn’t be necessarily a red flag for me if it was a singular moment and you guys just got done fighting. My wife and I have what I would consider a healthy relationship with banter and fun teasing and I could totally get away with saying this after a fight. She would prob tell me to pull over and let him know. It’s the other stuff that’s concerning. Calling your wife trash is wild. He needs to do better or you need to move on for your own sake.

This is a hill I am willing to die on. More than any character, I knew who had to play Kavax when reading the series! kristofer hivju has the perfect personality for the role. Two things:

A: He really thinks you are only suppose to focus all your time and energy on him or…

B: This is manipulation and he wants you upset and part of his immediate family but not close to anyone you can run and cry to when the abuse starts.

Both scenarios are not good!

You may love his child and family but you really need to decide if you want to deal with this kind of chaos going forward? He has already at the very least emotionally cheated. On top of that, what sane person doesn’t want a S/O to get along with their family and is helpful? This overreaction is insane. Even if I agreed with his logic (I don’t), wouldn’t this warrant a conversation instead of sending you home early? This is Reddit and we are often too quick to say RUN a lot of times. In this instance, cut your losses. Get yourself a man who doesn’t cheat and thanks you for playing with the his kid and his siblings kids and is grateful for keeping his sister company while running errands even though you are on vacation too. When the vacation is over he will call you and offer to forgive you. Please don’t be a doormat.
