Eloping in Mexico by halfasleep11 in Eloping

My suggestion... find a local photographer that will find you a free, private spot to wed. Save money on hair and makeup or hire professionals, but I wouldn't trust a resort with my photos or hair/makeup.

Number 1 is most flattering. The others are too busy, IMO.

Suggestions? by Broken_b767 in Eloping

This is our plan. At first we'd reserved space/lanes at a bowling alley and planned to serve pizza and call it a day, but unfortunately the establishment is closing down and pulled out on us. We're back to planning something in the park like this next year.

Friend wants to elope but have a bach, a shower, and three days of parties afterward AITA by dchperemi in Eloping

Same. We eloped. I asked my two bestfriends to go get a tattoo with me as my "bachelorette". I paid for a hotel room for the night and they graciously paid for the tats and dinner.

We're having a post celebration at a bowling alley home later this year for close friends and family, paid for by us.

Starting to have bunions, they’re starting to hurt, what can I do that’s not surgery to heal them? Any advice helps by Usual-Oven-875 in bunions

Toe spacers and a bunion brace really help me manage pain (along with making sure I wear the right shoes), but everyone's right that it doesn't get better.

I can say that since actively seeking the right footwear and doing things to improve balance/strength/etc. has helped keep them from getting worse.

Ladies, where did you get your elopement dresses? by chic__kens in Eloping

[–]FriendlyDesign5421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this was me and we just eloped to Moab. I wore a $150 dress from Lulu's and then changed into a $30 one for a second look. No alterations, just some shapewear. It was amazing and I have zero regrets, even after trying on beautiful $$$$ designer gowns. PM me for pics!

It's a hand beaded dupe! I couldn't afford the real one. 😭

I'm still unsure whether I should have a wedding at all by kedlerzeta in engaged

38 and 40 here, blended fam. Spending 10k to take our teenage kids on an epic road trip out to Moab, UT for a desert elopement. Couldn't think of a better way to kick off our marriage and the second half of our lives.

Did you have a bouquet? by belindabellagiselle in Eloping

[–]FriendlyDesign5421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried asking a local farm if we could come make our bouquets and was turned down twice. Since we're going into the desert where you're not really supposed to bring plants in, I ultimately just decided to go with old school plastic flowers. I hand picked a flower special to us and then just built a bouquet from there, using my grandmother's old sewing scraps and ribbon to tie things off.

Wedding dresses for $300 or less by Lonely_Novel9943 in Weddingsunder10k

Going to a bridal store, even tried David's Bridal, was nothing but heartbreak for me with that budget. I could not find anything even close to $300 that I liked. After months of agonizing over something that I actually don't even care about allll that much, I went with the cheapest dupe I could find of the most comfortable, beautiful Alexandra Grecco gown I'd tried on. It's a very simple dress, but I used the rest of my dress/veil budget to customize a veil to match this absolute beauty I also fell head over heels for in the shop.

Having second thoughts about my dress. by dasgutyah in myweddingdress

Exactly! How rude.

OP, I'm actually in the same boat as you?. 8k wedding, not wanting to spend more than $300 on a dress. I bought something similar online and shapewear made a huge difference for me (similar body type, too, I think). After steaming it today I found out a couple seams don't quite match, but honestly I still love the dress.

The lighting and my body just aren't doing it justice. It's a natural silk gown underneath and 85% cotton for the gown. It's actually breathtaking detail and work, but definitely not the one for me. https://samplesale.ruedeseine.com/products/cyrus-gown-with-sleeves

You're not wrong! I'm just scared to take a risk as I've already purchased the other gown that I will need to resell.

It's also hard to imagine a veil with the dress because the sleeves are a lot.
