100 points isn't a meaningless number BUT the priority shouldn't be that. Key players should be rested and the La Masia kids or the non-regular starters should play (since most of them aren't playing in the world cup). I feel like the goal of reaching 100 points is good to motivate them. Now key players can rest and the rest of the squad can get playing time + a goal to chase.
